Walrus

Walrus is a simple game.

Someone nominates a song category (e.g. the best Taylor Swift song), everyone submits songs to fit the category (e.g. Trouble), and winners are declared (was there any doubt it would be anything other than Trouble?!)

The Round Robin Format

Xander posted his idea here which will run like this:

- Everyone submits a category
- Everyone submits songs against each category to me
- Songs then go up against each other in a head to head until we have a winner!

We can work out once all entries are in. If we limit categories to 8 & submissions to 8 that'll be 64 entrants. We might need to do qualifiers or something IDK. We'll work it out once we know popularity.

Doesn't have to be a major part of the song. Any whistle even if it's just once for a split second is fine.

It's your thing DZ but a couple of suggestions

- Dont reveal the submitter of a song until it's eliminated
- Colour code song titles to make it clear which category they are from and keep track of category winners as well as overall winners
- Rolling matchups to vote on to suit both people who want to do things in small frequent chunks and also those who want to do things in a glut. (4 matchups to vote on Monday, due Thursday. Another 4 on Tuesday due Friday etc)
- Give less time/more simultaneous matchups from round 2 onwards because we've all heard the songs at that point.

Everyone picks and submits from 8 categories

128 songs (7 rounds)

What if eight categories of the sixteen are randed to each person, to minimize the chance that one category gets a bunch of submissions and another gets very few?

After the rand, people can swap with each other if there are categories they really want but didn't get

And - if I understand this correctly, this won't actually be a round robin, but a knockout tournament. The winner of each head-to-head match advancing to the next round.
