Moocher, please calm down and stop the ad hominems, we're in sort of trouble now but I believe we should have two more people lock clear because of it - me and dbmurph, we can and will still win this.
11-20-2014
, 04:49 AM
how does this make you lock clear wolf?
11-20-2014
, 04:51 AM
it's okay with me Len. the first time it stung now I just sort of smile about it.
BUT LEAVE CRUNKUS ALONNNNNEEE! *youtube*
Moocher as far as I know lynch doesn't trigger tonight, so I'd rather think about stuff in totality in the morning. Pretty tired. I'm reading about vomiting blood while half asleep

It makes me a lock clear villager, or at least close to it. I think if you're initially correct, there's a decent chance I go into antispew or open troll mode as soon as you announce it. It still caught me off guard but it'd be pretty insane to post like that out of trouble for a wolf.
Or maybe not lack lack but reevaluate me in f5 or whatever.

1) thought i was a wolf
2) still might think it and haven't realised what a godawful mistake you've made

So.... what does Moocher claim then? And when did this all happen?

I think openly discussing what PR he might be if he is one should stop right this second.

Alright, well Moocher doesn't seem to be backing down from his Len view, which is completely bogus. At first I thought he was just making an accusation. He couldn't very well have the view while in jail which is where I put him last night. It turned out for the opposite reasons than I intended though.
Somehow they weren't tipped off though so he must just be vanilla mafia or something.
The Moocher
I would still have Phel as my #2

I am sighing at the belief that I personally believe you to be lying about your claim (faking as a villager) and at the possibility that dbmurph maybe just outted himself as villa PR in order to "catch you".

He made one post at EOD1 that I found slightly villagery.
I am taking note of the fact that he apparently for the first time ever has looked at past games. That should make him more likely to be a villager than wolf I guess.
But those are relatively small things in his favor compared to what I have going for a lot of other people. It makes me not want to focus on him at the moment though.

I'm gonna try to catch up now and not interact so much in real-time. I'm busy tonight (but will be back about 2 hrs before EOD), so I want to make sure that I have time to read everything.

I'm just re-reading jcohen and he's making me think I need to adjust on Gamer Dude, also the fact that kid only has 15 posts today is not a good indication of him being a villager.

The Curious Case of JCohen
Why I'm looking into this: He comes from a background of playing turbos here on 2p2 to transitioning at least to some extent into long vanillas. These games have the same setups, in both everyone's vanilla except for a full seer/cop. The game hugely relies on that one guy and "When did the seer die?" is very much correlated with "Who won?". In these games, it's common to provide cover for the seer as a villager to draw nightkills instead of him. For this, you'd leave fakepeeks - "X is a villager" etc. To my knowledge, this is the only way he knows how to play werewolf. I have no reason to believe he wouldn't provide such cover here. With all respect to him, he'd make an unusual strong player kill.
To any 2p2er: I also looked out for "title peeks" but nada.
Posts of his that might be note worthy:
^ A common theme with giving reads this game for him was to say "I like x" or "I don't like x", I'd expect him to leave a peek differently.
Some early reads. It's worth noting because TTT might be construed as the peek later, I don't believe this is the case.
This is a way he might leave a peek, though lumping two players together is weird so that's probably not it.
The first megapost, concluding in monstr's vote. Note that he has monstr outside of alphabetical order but he's in place where weareking should have been so ignore that. Inside the post, only the last paragraph before the vote catches my eye. Note that he hadn't mentioned monstr before this post. "Pretty clearly my top wolf read"
Jcohen making a case on monstr.
And offering insight to their meta.
Tom "one of his strongest villagers" - he's not the peek.
Lists monstr first.
Once again "TTT one of my strongest villagers", this is getting dangerous so it's very much possible that if he left a peek, it's not of a villager imo.
Would still prefer monstr.
Something that might get interpreted as a peek, I think. DW=DWetz
In response to Saber voting monstr.
Trying to get Luckbox to follow suit on monstr.
The last one makes it not so peekish, it leaves room that jcohen might change his mind.
In response to Thingy voting monstr.
TTT at the top, he added Thingy later to this list if anyone cares.
Once again, implying there's a chance he isn't certain in monstr(he obv wasn't being vanilla but I'd have loved to see it being played like that).
Pretty late, still wants to lynch monstr.
"My heart doesn't have support"

I'm trying out a new format of catching up with posts. instead of quoting posts chronologically and reacting to them, I'm doing it by player to hopefully make things more organized. and then it should more easily show if i want a certain player to respond to something, since you can just look at your name.
lets see how this goes*
*these quotes/comments/reads are all from post ~850 on, nothing earlier
also, comments under each individual person are in chronological order, and I'm reacting to each one as i see it and not editing it later. so its my real time reactions. I'm just saying this because idk if its gonna sound weird or not by the time its finished (since from top to bottom its gonna be out of order, because its organized by player)
this ended up basically becoming my notes? idk, read it however you want

i don't like the reasoning in this post at all:
this is like what was mentioned earlier when you are trying to give a logical proof as to why someone is a wolf. it just doesn't work like that; its just stupid semantics. when someone says you made a read "out of thin air," its hyperbole - it doesn't mean they literally think you picked a name out of a hat or something.
is it possible not to have 'some development' when you posted this 24 hours before eod?
its just semantics, and your entire fight with moocher is stupid and obnoxious. you think you're gonna prove someone is a wolf because they accused you of making a read out of thin air? jesus christ, sorry if he isn't using the exact wording you are used to to illustrate the same point
Athexx
athexx hasn't made any posts i immediately want to react to. i just think his posts have sounded reasonable enough that I'm not suspicious of him
corycurren
unfortunately for you, all you did towards me when we were w/v was joke around, so you can't use that as an excuse for things anymore.
it seems weird that you'd be suspicious of me just because we don't mindmeld exactly. we didn't mindmeld in the last champions game either; we form reads in different ways. spotting each other as villagers and agreeing on reads are two totally separate things.
i mean great, my posts didn't manage to make it onto your notepad. that doesn't really mean anything to me. ultimately, you still sound to me exactly how you did in our last w/v game, and that does not make me happy
oh, goodie. hopefully by the time I've caught up you will have mentioned more about me than my failure to make it onto your notepad
this means nothing to me. what am i not doing that villager!me would do? since i am villager!me, i think i am doing everything that villager!me would do.
but now you're saying "doing things" when before it was about my reads. so which is it: my reads, or my style of play? or actions that i am or am not doing?
essentially, its just that you don't mindmeld on my reads, right?
it'd be nice if you at least said which reads those were. instead you tell my I'm a wolf for not agreeing with your reads when i have no idea what your reads even are.
and not to mention that that is a terrible way of judging whether someone is a wolf or not, because the easiest thing for a wolf to do is to match their reads with whatever villager they want to win over. saying someone is a wolf for their d1 reads is abysmal. like you don't even talk about the reasoning or thought process, or any way I'm playing in a different style, but just that the list doesn't match up with whatever list you have. big deal
--
ok i made it to your reads list, which was decent but it still doesn't look that hard to fake. i just want more reads in real time from you. like i don't know that I've seen you call out any specific post as it happens. but essentially my main problem is that your deadline has passed and you still are not oozing villageriness whatsoever.
Crunkus
you need to stop asking the entire thread to do things. you don't get to dictate how other people play. just because i think you are extremely villagery does not mean i like your style, which is starting to get annoying. stop telling people what to do
same here. there isn't much more annoying than constant questions with no followup or acknowledgment of responses, especially when you're continually complaining about the lack of responses
--
i typed that up before i saw the crunkus meltdown, so now it feels like I'm just piling on. but listen, this happens to people on d1 of many many WW games all over the internet, every time someone feels like they aren't being heard. the game dynamics will change greatly as we move forward, so even if you don't like it now it doesn't mean it won't get better. I'm sure it sucks to have people tell you they don't like your playing style, but understand you are basically saying the same thing to them every time you essentially demand for them to answer your questions. this is a game where villagers as a team have to play as individuals because we don't know who each other are, and so no one can force anyone to play a different way than they want to. and well, of course there are wolves too who are automatically against you. so just take a break and don't let it get to you
dbmurph22
im not sure about this, but don't these games usually start with ~75% villagers? so calling someone 90% villager might be strong, but its not crazy
this is the first non-neutral thought ive had about you, but i enjoy your ability (or maybe the better word is desire? willingness?) to see things from different perspectives. many, many people here are throwing shade at the way people from other sites are playing. but instead of doing that, you are trying to understand where they are coming from and incorporating it into your own analysis. and thats exactly what everyone should be doing
unfortunately, i can't say that its necessarily villagery for you to be doing that. it might even be wolfy because seeing things from others' perspectives is a very important wolf skill. but regardless, i hope you keep doing it just for the sake of sanity in the thread
i like this post. i think I'm slowly starting to like you
DWetzel
i like the long post to crunkus (#1051). keep applying pressure, I've switched my original position on you
such a good explanation (because of its simplicity), which shows you are following things the way a villager should be. i feel like you've had a good balance of clearing up confusion like this and applying pressure to people like crunkus.
i put him in the same category as sjg90 in our game (do you remember him?). he is playing with a style that is so clearly disliked by everyone. but i have him as a villager because i think he genuinely believes what he's saying, and thats all that matters. i don't think it would be smart at all for him to keep this up as a wolf, but as a villager he's more likely to stick to his guns like he has been doing
i certainly understand your frustration, i just think its critical to be able to separate what you view as clearly bad or hypocritical villager play with what is actually wolf play. and i can see why you think crunkus would be a bad or hypocritical villager, but i don't think that makes him a wolf.
lenC

talk to me about how last champions game, you said you always have the most posts as a villager but can't replicate that as a wolf. and now on the first day of the game you're already saying you won't have a high post count
saberwolf13
tappokone
(no posts, though ftr i am pretty suspicious of both of them atm)
The Moocher
this bitchfight you are having with arcbell is painful to endure. its exactly what you did with guild last champions game and i don't like it
for the record, i thought he was joking when he made that comment about your job
i agree with each of these reads, and more importantly, the analysis behind this post
i really disagree with this though. also on a side note, and this is a very side note, but i don't like all the thumbs up you are putting in so many of your posts. is this something you always do? it seems kinda fake to me, like when people put smileys. but its probably not a big deal
Thingyman
(no posts, but i thought he was very villagery early on. it seemed like he was trying to figure things out - i guess people call that "game solvey")
TommyDanger
what makes you think that is a wolfy trait? have you even thought about why you consider that to be wolfy? because it doesn't make any sense
a villager rubbing you the wrong way and a wolf are two different things. you have to be able to tell the difference (for example, i think crunkus is a villager who rubs me the wrong way, that doesn't mean i think he's a wolf)
wolves have to placate/appease the thread. so "obstinate ignoring" is not a wolfy trait because it shows he doesn't care about what other people think. which he has to do as a wolf, and shouldn't do as a villager
of course he could be good enough to pretend to not care about what other people think, but thats not what you're attacking him for
you think someone made a vote just to save a counter wagon with ~20 hours before eod?
yes, that is one of the more ridiculous thoughts I've seen so far in this game
Top Tier Tom
what does that even mean? as I'm typing this I'm remembering an earlier post of yours saying you like to solve the game in the laziest way possible, so i guess this is a good example of that
but I'm still gonna call it lazy because thats what it is. and its bad
have you been following? traz has been suspicious of tommy for basically the whole game
unfortunately, i doubt this is pure. and of course once again, I'm the only one who's ever willing to speak out against the alliance
just because we all want it so badly doesn't make it true
you can call it whatever you want, but its still the same thing as anytime anyone reciprocates suspicion toward someone else. which is pretty much level 1 WW of what you should not automatically do
of course, i hope you don't mistake these comments as suspicion toward you. i actually think you are the most villagery out of #thealliance. i still don't like you calling them in to back you up like that, but alliance gonna alliance i guess
traz
its absurd to think otherwise. but I'm still fine with encouraging this mindset because i want wolves to bus each other
i would say i am on traz's side in the traz vs tommydanger battle. traz and dwetzel are the two people i have switched my reads on the most, and now i like both of them
its making me more on your side, if thats any consolation
ill give some background on it: they do this very, very often. they are very good at clearing each other. i mean I'm not sure if thats because they are actually good at reading each other, or because they rand villager a lot and always trust each other
maybe in the world where its been happening to traz the entire game. i mean i feel like I'm getting second-hand trolled just watching everyones reaction to traz, can't imagine how he feels
monstrman
can't really express the sheer astonishment and joy i felt when i saw you sub in. but that quickly waned with your first post. why so formal?
i didn't like your analysis on cory, or on me for that matter. your other analysis was a lot of words, and for a normal person i might think its villagery but it does not match up with what im so used to out of you
also im so sick of the "I'm expecting a lot from you this game so I hope you don't let me down" line. not just about me, but when people say it about anyone. its so stupid
its either dangerous, stupid, or both to clear someone just because they have a long post early on. it often ends poorly. its not nearly as hard to fake as people seem to think it is, and most of the people who clear other like this don't even closely read the long post that they are clearing someone from
this is such an easy comment to make about any fight that ever takes place. dislike
i really don't like how so much of your analysis on everyone is based on whatever encounters you've had with them in past games, and not talking about specific things they've done in this game. to me, thats one of the easiest things to "make up" as a wolf, because your comments about past games can easily be sincere, and you don't have to apply much thought from this current game. and it seems like you're helping a lot more than you actually are
perfect, now you are even saying this is how you will be operating in the future. the problem is, this is not at all how you've played in past villager games. you shoot from the hip, you embody the name of monstrman. you aren't this slow, calculating person you are setting yourself up to be
way to just rehash everything that dwetzel has already said to crunkus
the stances you've taken in this game have been so easy, and so in line with the thread consensus. this is nothing like the monstrman i know
well named
(no posts and i also don't really remember anything from him off the top of my head. i think i was leaning slightly good on him early, but it was thin)
yamato77
yes, exactly. i like this post. out of everyone in the game, i think you were the one person who i couldn't remember any of your posts. so based on this post, i like you now.
especially when cory seems to have been on the opposite end of that before. but i wouldn't hold that part against cory, because cory doesn't realize he's a straw thats breaking the camels back. from his perspective, traz is only reacting to the recent posts made from cory/monstr, and he isn't considering all of the other similar posts that have been directed at traz since the start of the game
but i agree with you that traz really seems villagery
i like this analysis too. you are good in my book
-----
anyways
im not gonna get any support for this vote. in fact, ill probably have a literal alliance of people coming after me because of it. but this is pretty clearly my top wolf read, so it gets my vote

but now you're saying "doing things" when before it was about my reads. so which is it: my reads, or my style of play? or actions that i am or am not doing?
essentially, its just that you don't mindmeld on my reads, right?
it'd be nice if you at least said which reads those were. instead you tell my I'm a wolf for not agreeing with your reads when i have no idea what your reads even are.
and not to mention that that is a terrible way of judging whether someone is a wolf or not, because the easiest thing for a wolf to do is to match their reads with whatever villager they want to win over. saying someone is a wolf for their d1 reads is abysmal. like you don't even talk about the reasoning or thought process, or any way I'm playing in a different style, but just that the list doesn't match up with whatever list you have. big deal
--
ok i made it to your reads list, which was decent but it still doesn't look that hard to fake. i just want more reads in real time from you. like i don't know that I've seen you call out any specific post as it happens. but essentially my main problem is that your deadline has passed and you still are not oozing villageriness whatsoever.
Crunkus
you need to stop asking the entire thread to do things. you don't get to dictate how other people play. just because i think you are extremely villagery does not mean i like your style, which is starting to get annoying. stop telling people what to do
same here. there isn't much more annoying than constant questions with no followup or acknowledgment of responses, especially when you're continually complaining about the lack of responses
--
i typed that up before i saw the crunkus meltdown, so now it feels like I'm just piling on. but listen, this happens to people on d1 of many many WW games all over the internet, every time someone feels like they aren't being heard. the game dynamics will change greatly as we move forward, so even if you don't like it now it doesn't mean it won't get better. I'm sure it sucks to have people tell you they don't like your playing style, but understand you are basically saying the same thing to them every time you essentially demand for them to answer your questions. this is a game where villagers as a team have to play as individuals because we don't know who each other are, and so no one can force anyone to play a different way than they want to. and well, of course there are wolves too who are automatically against you. so just take a break and don't let it get to you
dbmurph22
im not sure about this, but don't these games usually start with ~75% villagers? so calling someone 90% villager might be strong, but its not crazy
this is the first non-neutral thought ive had about you, but i enjoy your ability (or maybe the better word is desire? willingness?) to see things from different perspectives. many, many people here are throwing shade at the way people from other sites are playing. but instead of doing that, you are trying to understand where they are coming from and incorporating it into your own analysis. and thats exactly what everyone should be doing
unfortunately, i can't say that its necessarily villagery for you to be doing that. it might even be wolfy because seeing things from others' perspectives is a very important wolf skill. but regardless, i hope you keep doing it just for the sake of sanity in the thread
i like this post. i think I'm slowly starting to like you
DWetzel
i like the long post to crunkus (#1051). keep applying pressure, I've switched my original position on you
such a good explanation (because of its simplicity), which shows you are following things the way a villager should be. i feel like you've had a good balance of clearing up confusion like this and applying pressure to people like crunkus.
i put him in the same category as sjg90 in our game (do you remember him?). he is playing with a style that is so clearly disliked by everyone. but i have him as a villager because i think he genuinely believes what he's saying, and thats all that matters. i don't think it would be smart at all for him to keep this up as a wolf, but as a villager he's more likely to stick to his guns like he has been doing
i certainly understand your frustration, i just think its critical to be able to separate what you view as clearly bad or hypocritical villager play with what is actually wolf play. and i can see why you think crunkus would be a bad or hypocritical villager, but i don't think that makes him a wolf.
lenC
this abrasiveness seems villagery to me
i like you and i like your attitude
Luckbox Inc
(no posts, but he seemed fine to me early on)
marvellosity
just another marv post that says what I'm thinking. i like this guy
merk_sa
Murska
(no posts - though i said earlier i like both of them as villagers)
Phelanpt
talk to me about how last champions game, you said you always have the most posts as a villager but can't replicate that as a wolf. and now on the first day of the game you're already saying you won't have a high post count
saberwolf13
-----
anyways
im not gonna get any support for this vote. in fact, ill probably have a literal alliance of people coming after me because of it. but this is pretty clearly my top wolf read, so it gets my vote
monstrman
Quote:
first of all, aside from the game, it makes me sad that its come to this where i just made a giant post that concludes with you being a wolf, and now we are the only ones who are active. and then I'm gonna have to sleep and wake up and be another 500 posts behind. and that because of my read its ruining what could be some great bonding time between us
but putting that aside, you have been so extraordinarily different from your normal villager game that i can't ignore. i love your username because it embodies your playing style, and its why you are so easy to clear as a villager. because villager you comes out swinging. attacking whoever you have a read on, not caring what anyone else thinks, etc.
but thats not the monstrman in this game. instead you have been a lot more formal and a lot less whacky than usual. and your stances on people have conformed with what a lot of other people think
you also softened on cory immediately, even though the last game i played with you two you instantly cleared him and he ended up being a wolf. that pain should still be fresh to you. and yes, this whole alliance thing is rubbing me the wrong way because you guys want each other to be villagers so badly that its too easy to take advantage of when 1-2 of you rand wolf. as happened in our last game
so thats what i think. and i think I'm right, and i also think i have very little support so you probably don't need to worry about it. i don't know what else to say, i just think we are on different sides. if I'm wrong, then hopefully i will realize it at some point. but i waited patiently to make a lynch vote i could be confident in this game, and this is what i came up with

I'm finally caught up again
-tom is one of my strongest villagers at this point. i melded with him a lot during his fight with cory.
-dwetzel, crunkus, lenc, and marv are also very strong villagers for me at this point for reasons I've mentioned already
-i still like all 3 of moocher, thingy, and traz, but i have a bit more caution towards them than i do the above
-i was obv pumped to see gamer dude enter the thread, but i haven't been too pleased with his posts either. its a weird game for me to be suspicious of all 3 of cory/monstr/gamer
-outside of those 3 which are more meta reads, i think arcbell and sabrewolf have displayed the most wolfy characteristics of this game.
I'm still the only vote on monstr, and ill probably leave it there for another hour or two. but if its hopeless i will be picking a wagon before eod.
i also realize i haven't been in the thread at the same time as many of you, so my thoughts have come in 2-3 huge posts rather than real time interaction. but ill be here pretty much constantly from now throughout eod so hopefully people are ready to interact
otherwise my reads haven't changed too much from where they were before, which is why I'm not explaining that much in this post. i know theres a couple posts people asked me to respond to so I'm gonna do that and then interact

im not really expecting any of those to be consensus
cory ive talked about a lot, and gamer i would still need to see more of him before being confident in anything. just didn't like how he started off
TTT is one of my strongest villagers. i disagreed with him a lot earlier, but i see him actively asking questions to people about their game to try and figure them out better. this is something he always did to me in turbos when we first started playing together, and i noticed he didn't do it to me as much when he was a wolf. so i think he's trying to solve the game and figure out peoples roles, which is good. i also melded with him during his entire argument with cory, and a couple other spots where i could definitely see his perspective. plus he's been the most active and all that, and even though people say he's capable of it as a wolf, I'm not sure he'd have to be this active. i think he's showing a ton of effort and thats a good thing
danger is someone I've been waffling on and will reread soon so that i can get a clear stance on him. I'm really not sure right now

i also really don't want to lynch merksa, i think his aggression and bluntness are villagery. if i had to rank the top wagons in order of who id lynch it'd be:
saberwolf
tommydanger
phelanpt
merksa
but phelanpt and tommy could easily switch places, I'm gonna have to iso both of them
i would still prefer to lynch monster but not one person is supporting me on that. otherwise arcbell is the only person with a lynch vote i would be down for

Something that might get interpreted as a peek, I think. DW=DWetz
In response to Saber voting monstr.
Trying to get Luckbox to follow suit on monstr.
Quote:
I'm sure that is frustrating, but i also can't just change my top wolf read whenever that person claims they aren't a wolf
i think your best chance of changing my opinion is not by talking to me, but by doing your best to find a wolf and explaining your thought processes. then i can see how you're thinking and see if i agree with it, or really if i buy it. and hopefully, if you really are a villager and are having genuine thoughts, id be able to recognize your thoughts as genuine

I've been rereading and I'm fine with either arcbell or saberwolf as the lynch today. I'm not as sold on phelanpt or tommydanger. my vote will probably be pretty active late depending how all this plays out, and assuming i don't get any more support for monstrman
im gonna grab dinner and be back with 20-30 min before eod

Sorry for the length.
My conclusion is that if he left a peek, it's monstr=w, there isn't anything else that makes sense. There are a couple of posts where he's breaking cover, which doesn't make me immediately move in on this but overall, I'd say he was obsessed with monstr.
