Couldn't fate have just given radisto a 4 (instead of 3) on the final rack? That's worth 60,287 exactly as played.

Concerning the puzzle bug, I was not able to complete the game and the puzzle does not show a new goal score of 66,297. However, this showed up on the main page.

Thing is, last time I looked Alex and derwi (iirc) were at a 1410-1420 odd level, which is a score I maintained close to last year for quite a while, and makes me think there must be a deflationary bias to the rankings. There's no way they should be at a simular level to me, even before my current loss of any clue.

I didn't fall quite that far I think, 1432 was the lowest iirc.

Yeah, I couldn't recall who exactly it was who I'd noticed, and was too lazy to check.

Haha, yep I've missed most of the tourney naming madness. Pretty to cool to see them going well though. More Solforge games being played per day than there have been in a long time, which I assume is mostly tournies.

I'm red, somewhat discredits the rating system when I'm up in the top ten

I have 8 Crabshoot matches to play and SIX of them are against Hg80. Some variety would be nice.

I was randed against Hg80 four first rounds in a row at one point. RNG clearly broken!

Updated the VIB stats, and realized I can just put a 0.8 multiplier to the ratings to have the max at 200 despite being calculated differently. This way it is more comparable with other tourney ratings. I guess I'm stupid for not thinking about it earlier.

Also, going to be using the keyword statz for tourney stat update posts from now on to make them easier to find, hopefully NP will do the same. This is also something that could've been done earlier as well. I guess I'm confirmed stupid for not doing it before this.

In spoiler: VIB stats for tourneys 1-10 with the adjusted ratings, no other changes. 11-20 and 1-20 after 20 has been completed.

Also, I was asked to relay a message from the new tourney mascot:

Update on this. In spoilers, so that those who don't care (everyone? ), don't have to read.

Spoiler:
So, I drew this awesome-looking* giraffe of my BW wins (y: tourney win % within a streak; x: tourneys):

Where streaks start and end were liberally chosen. Shortest is 4 tourneys, longest 18. The worst winrate for a hot streak is 50 %. The best winrate for a cold streak is 20 %, which is kind of high, but maybe just not high enough that it could be considered an inbetween streak, when compared to the lowest hot streak winrate. Anyhow, seems like it wasn't completely my imagination, and there is some kind of hot streak-cold streak trend going on. Luckily for me the hot streak tourneys outnumber the cold streaks, and the hot streaks have been REALLY HOT, at least lately. The only bad cold streak seems to be the first one (2 wins in 18), after that it is 33 wins in 77, which is quite a superb run tbh. Long may it continue!

*not really

There was a small error in the previous tourney stats spreadsheet with the "match length distribution against a specific opponent" -tool. Fixed that. And at the same time decided to improve the other things too. Corrected the errors at top toughest/easiest that happened under some scenarios, also made them work in a way that uses less resources (empty file size down by about closer to 12 %). And fixed an annoying BYE/tourney results bug too. BYEs should be marked down with just BYE as the opponent's name, no match length, no match result.

Unless I made some mistakes (will fix if found), I think everything should now work as supposed to, and it should be about as resource-friendly as it can be.

how do you play a first rack with 6544?

I have no clue really
Triplechain Quote

Currently I play it by playing 5 outside, 6 center, and not using the 4s to leave setup options open.

Just had a spot where I pretty much hated every possible option, even though the situation didn't look that bad.

Is there even a good play here?
