nice

Are you starting your games in normal mode?
That is what I always do. I switch to advanced mode when I decide that it is not worth it continuing the game in normal mode. Like rolling 3 3s.

I got third in a very low-scoring daily challenge a few days ago, but I usually do really bad.

Shared with me and already been beaten, unfortunately.

Practice practice practice. Make sure you understand and play Dynasty strategy correctly as well as basic strategy.

If you don´t care about your rating but just want to win a challenge, you can make plays that go against the field, e.g. make chains with 3s. I´ve seen a n00b win the daily challenge once because in the first 4 racks there were 2 2s and HE CONNECTED THEM. Lo and behold, the throws 5-9 didn´t have a single 2 and he won the challenge. Now THAT is a play against the field.

looks like exactly what is happening today - boatload of people take the same strategy and end up with more or less the same score, plus one other person who's done something different and scored ++

Have achieved b) and c), really want to get a) but obviously need to get very lucky with the rolls.

i noticed the other day that dynasty had won more daily challenges that i had played total games. It's no longer true, but it made me feel less bad about continually sucking at the game.

I'm kicking some serious Triplechain ass today, 3 40k's and several 30k's. I just realized that I'd been rushing to match up 2's early when I should have been spreading them out early. And I'm also running great with the dice.

hey kioshk, i saw the daily scores, you were putting the hammer down. i resolve to quit once i've acheived the same goals you've set for yourself. at this point i've never played a daily challenge, have 1 game over 50k, and 4 above 40k. (50k was sooo much oops & rungoot). let's se who gets there first. gogogo.

Heh, I'll race you to all 3, but I originally meant any 1 of those 3, and your 50K already won that.

there's little skill to scoring 50k, ime, you just need to rig the rand.

Another note - look at the #1 score of all time. The amazing thing is it looks like it was possibly not an optimal score given the roll.
