05-23-2012 , 10:23 PM
The whole team collaborates together. One person should submit it.
05-23-2012 , 10:26 PM
yeah i figured that out in chat
05-23-2012 , 10:40 PM
Hey Probst, when are these due?
05-23-2012 , 11:19 PM
So was everybody right with me being last?
05-23-2012 , 11:22 PM
you were in the last round, yes

it was double picks so its not one person in last per se

but i listed you 2nd to last actually
05-23-2012 , 11:33 PM
At least we weren't actually picked last! By mets' criteria there were 10 worse pms.
05-24-2012 , 12:01 AM
no

6 worse
05-24-2012 , 12:07 AM
listen, buddy...
05-24-2012 , 12:53 AM
Okay, we brainstormed in skype and I've added in some good guesses. I've bolded ones we've spent time ranking or are fairly sure on.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE (NO RESEARCH ALLOWED)

Only one tribe may win immunity. The rest of the teams will head to Tribal Council tomorrow at 7pm EST (ALL COMMUNICATION MUST CEASE IMMEDIATELY) and all votes must be in by midnight EST, at which point I will reveal. Any HII must be played between the 7pm and midnight period.
Trivia Questions: (According to Wikipedia/whatever source I happened to look up). You get a point for each right answer, as well as an extra point if you get it in its exact spot on the list (except for the sports category). Highest points wins immunity. Lists must be PMed to me UNORDERED.

ftr I think only one of the pirate movies did really good. I would assume if we picked one we should go with 2. sequels usually do better then originals. I think people started to get kind of sick of pirates after number 2 b/c the second one wasn't very good imo.

Titanic, avatar, gone with the wind, Star wars episode 1 and star wars a new hope are good top 5 picks imo. Harry potter 1 and 7.2 are tough on where to put them I remember they both did really well but I do not remember how well. Jaws should be like a 6th, 7th spot imo. JP2 should be closer to the end with TDK... Just my 2 cents.

Peronally I dont think Bank of America, WalMart or Fannie Mae are gonna be big enough world wide to make top 10.

I dont know who Monsanto is so cant comment on that.

Also how sure are people that Jurasic Park 2 grossed more than number 1?

Otherwise it looks decent.

Monsanto basically has a monopoly on seeds for large scale commercial growers. they also manufacture pesticides that kill bugs but not their seeds. Round Up? They are certainly high up there but may not be in top 10
05-24-2012 , 04:53 AM
Brodeur is WRONG for highest save percentage as well, it's Brian Elliott and he broke it this year. Last year Tim Thomas broke it, before that it was Hasek.

JP2 was one of those people camping outside to see the it in tents movies... I am not 100 percent sure we are doing this w/o research I just always remember seeing it on the top 10 movies lists.

I'd also be willing to argue that Novak Djokovic holds the record for most ATP points in a season with his 2011 season...I am not 100% sure on this like I am with the NHL save percentage, but would like to hear why you are thinking Nadal and for what year. If anything, I'd think Federer in 2006 would be higher than any Nadal season.
05-24-2012 , 10:14 AM
tbob, i just figured that one of nadal's seasons would have been best because he is so dominant on the clay circuit. but if you think it's djoker then by all means we'll use that. and great that you know the nhl one. that was just a guess.

This, however I'm not sure if Elliot's really counts.

that was my gut. i remember hearing about how it was the most productive offensive season of all time several times over. but i'm not sure if that was before or after OPS+ came to be in vogue.

on another note. I was thinking about financial/insurance firms this morning while on a job and just brainstormed these:

citibank
AG insurance (i'm pretty sure this was the firm that sold insurance against the housing market securities and then was bailed out)
prudential
warren buffet inc (whatever it's called)

when i lived in asia i know i saw walmart in both korea and the philippines. and i'm pretty sure it's one of the largest, if not the largest, retailer in mexico. i think we need to put it.
05-24-2012 , 10:39 AM
Sweet. Great to have some more certainty to replace some of the guesses that came out of the brain storming sessions!
