if he was sure mexi was going to shoot disko and not telco, it makes sense. Also, from our perspective, passing it to a lock clear makes sense if you're gonna claim it at all.

were there even any other lock clear villas at that point?

maybe he would have felt dumb not passing it to the only lock clear villa otherwise people get on his case about "why pass it to player x" when mexi is the only mechanically lock clear? (not sure if that was actually the case)
