Third in a series. From legend's original game:

Some historic sports contests are well known by nicknames or for events that happened within the game. I will list some of these matches. You will try to remember:

* The teams or contestants involved
* The final score of the game (or if it's a boxing match, the result)
* The year it took place
* The venue that hosted it

Like the other games, each question is worth five points in total. Half points will generously be awarded for near misses. And, there's a free point in here for everyone (but a bonus point is available for more specific answers).

Also like the other games, it's very much Amerocentric.

NO RESEARCH ALLOWED.

Reveal will probably take place sometime next week. I was going to x-post in SE, but they locked the thread that the other two games were announced in. What's that about?

The games in question:

1. The Tuck Rule
2. Jordan's shrug
3. Francisco Cabrera
4. The Music City Miracle
5. The Thrilla in Manila
6. The Drive
7. "Touch 'em all, Joe!"
8. Chris Webber's timeout
9. The Denkinger Game
10. The Immaculate Reception
11. "Havlicek stole the ball! It's all over!"
12. Fisk waves it fair
13. The Helmet Catch
14. The Bite Fight
15. Too many men on the ice, as pictured here:

#8 should really be labeled "Chris Webber gets away with the most obvious travel ever".

I love basketball, but who remembers the exact score to any bball game?

With football, you can at least back into some right answers with logic/knowing what the great final play was, etc... But basketball, I just throw numbers out there and pray.

the rule for traveling is actually pretty weird IMO

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traveli...etball%29#NCAA

art 4 and 5 would fool most ppl on what should be a travel I would guess

This is exactly my attitude, for every sport. I remember the names, the teams, the story lines, most of the years, but absolutely none of the scores. Although I did pull Super Bowl III's 16-7 out of a hat last game.

margin of victory would be better imo, people can at least remember "he missed a FG that would have put them up by 1" or "he broke a tie with a last second shot"

I swear I tried long and hard to look up the NBA rule for traveling before, and all there was was "improper shuffling of the feet". Really helpful.

That article does say the rule was updated within the last year to replace antiquated language. I guess they codified the way the referees interpret the rule...or maybe I should say how they theoretically interpret the rule.

Don't worry, half points will be given away quite generously for basketball.

7 and 11 inspired me to make an audio version of the game. The clip is ready, and (assuming demand) will be posted sometime after the reveal to this game is complete.
