a shoe with wheels is roller skates

and that's a tough word with only m/c/s and can't use skate in the clue

Cannibals capitalized woulda been a good clue if you knew I was a speed skater and Hyper Cannibals are great wheels (and what I use)

Sure-Grip woulda been a less esoteric and more direct as that is a big brand, but again you didn't know I'm a skater and most of you prolly aren't either unless you grew up in the 80s/90s

gotta see if any of your other words fit, but that's the most direct answer for 'tire shoes' clue

S11 Solarbabies never mentioned, but that’s an esoteric 80s movie that prolly wasn’t thought of

In general movies and tv shows seem like a good way to clue but could also make the game easier

Yeah they put Michelin in front of shoe to make it read as:

“Tire shoe”
“Wheel shoe”
“Car shoe”
“Drive shoe”

Etc

So I think roller skates is the most direct meaning of “wheel shoe”

Open to thinking of other stuff, but I feel pretty good about this

I think it's pretty difficult actually.

Best I can think of is a c4 (or c6 for euros), which is not even close to a lock. Lots of words hit, but they can go in tons of different directions.

Yea C4 will probably have to be the clue, maybe someone will come up with something spectacular otherwise suggest some inferior but hard to guess C numbers?
