Figured I'd start one while people are showing up for the reveal. Reveal sometime Thursday or Friday, depending on how quickly people sign up.

1. A capital of a current African country (continent only, no island nations).
2. Name a top 20 company in Fortune magazine's 2008 ranking of the highest revenue companies in the world (time period covered is the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2008).
3. Of the 500 companies ranked by Fortune, name one of the 20 least profitable companies. (note that this question refers to profit and not to revenue as in the question above)
4. Name a music album that has sold more than 25 million copies. (sales figures taken from wikipedia's list of top selling albums of all time)
5. Name an NFL team that has never won a Super Bowl.
6. Name one of the top 20 largest islands in the world by area.
7. Name one of the top 15 gold medal winning countries in the history of the Olympics (both Summer and Winter combined).
8. Name an inflation adjusted top 20 grossing movie of all time, according to boxofficemojo.com.
9. Name a top 20 US University according to US News and World Reports' National University Rankings for 2009.
10. Name a manufacturer of a USGA conforming golf ball (note that it is manufacturer, not brand. Any disputes will be settled by the official USGA list).
11. Name a top 10 pirated movie from 2007 (data taken from the most downloaded version of each movie from mininova)
12. Name a top 10 pirated television show from 2007 (data taken from the most downloaded version of an episode from mininova)

Send me your answers in an un-numbered PM. I'll give at least 12 hours warning before closing the entries and starting a reveal.

I hope everyone likes these questions, I've made them a little more ambiguous than some of the other reverse sheeps, so you might have to reason your way through some of the answers, but that's half the fun. I hope I've listed enough sources for my answers so that there are no disputes when it comes to scoring, hopefully there will be no Scandinavian problem this time. No googling of course.

Do Q5 & Q4 refer to year ending april 08?

Yes, they refer to Fortune magazine's 2008 rankings which refer to the fiscal year ending March 31, 2008.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to include the standard reverse sheep rules, so here they are.

RULES
Games in the league can be started by anyone provided the following rules are put into place:
1. The mod can't play in the game. Too easy to rig questions in your favor IMO.
2. Low score wins.
3. Incorrect answers are worth the points that the worst correct answer of the game gets plus 1.
4. At least 12 people enter.
5. No googling/wikipedia allowed.

The score a person gets for each game is 1 plus the number of people they beat or tied. Taking it down gets you a 5 point bonus points. Silver is good for 3 bonus points and Bronze gets you 1 bonus point. League will end after the 10th game.

Both questions 3 and 4 refer to the global rankings and not the US rankings?

Yes, global rankings.

Couple of clarifications, for number 5, I will only be accepting current NFL teams as answers, and any history in different cities will count for that team. Don't be a smartass and give me some team that folded in the 20s. For the Olympics question, medals are awarded to the country that originally won them. For questions 11 and 12, I'll be basing the numbers based off of an article written on Jan 1st, 2008, so don't go downloading ten million copies of some obscure show to push it into the top 10.

Finally, one major change for the golf ball question, I only did a cursory look at the USGA list and everything checked out, but going deeper I found a few major cases where the common brand name of a ball did not match up with the listed manufacturer, so I'll just be using my own judgement for what is or is not considered a manufacturer. Suffice to say, if you see a company name splashed on the package and on guys hats on the PGA tour, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

In Question #3, by "least profitable," do you mean the companies that have lost the most money, right? (As opposed to the companies that have +$1 in profit, I guess.)

yikes. i think i bricked on this game.

Yes, least profitable means whoever had the lowest profit, positive or negative doesn't matter. I think it's a safe bet to say that 20 of the 500 largest companies in the world lost money last year.

the manufacturer and not the brand of a golf ball?

It was a poorly written question, I've clarified it but it's too late to edit the OP. The original intent was to keep it as simple as possible, I didn't want people arguing that, using a baseball example, the Louisville Slugger major league and little league lines are two different brands of bats and should be counted seperately. However, when I read past the first couple of pages of the USGA list, it became apparent that not every company used their company name for a brand, so for example Louisville Slugger wasn't manufactured by Louisville Slugger, but Kentucky Wood Works, Inc, which obviously would have screwed everyone over. So, I'm just using my judgement for that question, and I'm only using the USGA list so people don't try and angle shoot by naming some custom golf ball company that no one has ever heard of.

Ugh just missed with my album. Thought for sure it had sold that many. 25 million is a lot.

Wow my gold medal country wasn't even close at all. Bleh, I suck.

In.

No idea about the golf balls, had to guess #5.
But that's an improvement for me, so I'm happy.
