at the end i had to quit. i was just too tired. he was tired too though. he tilted me because i said "let's just play 100/200. it'll be over quick" i wanted to play 20bb poker. he said he'd play 50/100. 20bb was just too shallow. but then he wanted to flip for 1000??? wtf

i lost two HUGE pots when i check/raised the flop, and bombed the turn huge, and he shoved over me. first one i had the nut straight and he boated up. second one i had two pair, he hit a set. **** **** **** ****

Some guy who wasn't very good asked me how long I had played and I told him a couple of months. So he told me that I needed to learn the 5 "p"s of poker. He said "players, you gotta know the players". "Position, you gotta learn position". Then he said, "I forgot the other ones but you need to learn them".

Just looked up the 5 p's and it appears he got half of his incomplete list wrong.

Down 350 in my second session. Biggest losing hand (I didn't have many playable hands):
AK behind a stradle to 4. I go to make it 16, but somehow grab only two reds so I make it 11, 3 or 4 callers, one of which is the stradle. KJ8 I thin 2 tone? Bet like close to pot, maybe 40 or 50, 2 callers. Shove like 120 on an 8 turn, stradle calls. River is a jack I think and he flips J8. Said if I had raised to 16 like I meant (I said something like "that was supposed to be 16) he would have folded. Oh well.

I don't think I played very well, but it is kind of hard to tell since I was really getting dick in the way of starting hands and not hitting any flops. took a few pots with aggression, but I really haven't quite figured this live thing out. I think I played < 10% of my hands that weren't a free pass in the BB or a complete from the sb with a suited king or ace when the pot was multiway.

Other thoughts: Robik looks much younger in person than he does (at least in my memory) or video mafia.

my line easily reps a T or an 8. their lines basically never have a T, rarely an overpair, and it's hard to call with anything less. i know the good lag can hand read and call me light, but he has to worry about me and the button. and the button is folding like 90%

Filthy I was being a bit snarky. It seems to me that your hand may have some showdown value but if it is the bottom of your range then a bluff is fine.

I don't hate it but I don't love it either. You can't get away with doing it every time obviously, probably not even 50% of the time. I'm honestly not even really sure what your image is in these games as you talk about playing so tight yet seemingly every hand you post here involves you getting out of line somehow. I feel like I probably miss opportunities to bluff in these types of spots where I get two weak calls, as it seems like I don't get paid off too much when I actually have a hand and bet.

I would have threebet preflop.

His hand has almost no showdown value at all. It would take a remarkable parlay of events for him to have the best hand (both players picked up a flush draw on the turn?), and even if he does he can't give himself a showdown when he is first to act.

Played three hours of 2-5 at the B last night. Made $725. Table was all regs, all pretty bad but in various ways. Nearly doubled up with JJ in the SB. I just called a raise from a loose reg who opened in the CO. Button called a young cute Asian girl who called too much, old fit or fold reg called after limping so we saw the flop four ways. Flop was J75 rainbow. I usually lead sets but I figured the initial raiser would bet all his air.

It checks around though. Turn is another 7 so I lead small 55. Only the opener calls, river is a blank. I lead for 120 and he shoves. Yay!
