it was 21k. i got 60% and of that i only got to keep 60% because they took another 40% out for taxes. and i had to tip the dealer, floor, chip runners, cage, and all that while i was super tilted from losing, and having to wait 2 hours to get paid.

aiui, jackpot winnings are different from poker wins/losses. they're like lottery winnings. and AND they can't be counted against my capital losses after getting crushed to hard in the stock market because it's gambling. and gambling is different from capital gains/losses

Poker ethics/rules question. You show your hand at showdown, opponent shows hand, you win pot. Few hands later you think about it and think opponent actually had a better hand but aren't sure. Do you bring it up?

Possibly crazy hand. Few Limper I raise from bb full pot to 75 with aat8 nut diamonds. 3 callers flop 69q rainbow one diamond. I check though could also get small I think. Check guy bets 150 fold I call first checker makes it 600 call I fold. Next card ace check check river q bet fold. Guy claims to have qq.

Omahaha. Particular hands were I was the rock/mandatory straddle and had qj33. Board runs out k9378. River check check other guy announces 2 pair I say set and show and I think he shows kjt9 but not that sure. Maybe like 30%

Also only like 80% sure on the board

If you arent 100% sure, don't bring it up. First, it has been accepted as is. Second, it will only cause confusion for the next two hours. If you are really sure, talk to the floor if you are willing to turn the pot over.

i think tragedy is more interesting than success

i made a good bluff the other night. sorry i don't remember the details. but it was vs a rec. there was a very good pro at the table sitting across from me. he said "$5 if you show the bluff" and i idiotically showed! *sigh*

when a pro wants to see your cards that bad, it's often because he picked up a tell and wants to confirm. really stupid of me to show for $5
