yet by not purchasing conventionally-grown produce you are failing to support millions of indigent itinerant farmworkers and small Mexican growers (afaik most CA avocados are grown in Mexico).

that's like saying you weren't supporting the cotton picking slaves in the south in 1840 if you boycotted their products.

I need some advice.

As you may recall, around this time last year I had a fungal infection in one of my big toenails which took quite some time and effort to kill off. The nail was starting to come loose and the doctor told me that it would almost certainly fall off. It never did, but the healthy nail began growing sorta underneath the rotted and infected nail, and as the healthy nail grew it pushed the unhealthy nail out towards the end of my toe. However, I haven't noticed any movement at all for the past 4 months or so. I've gently pried at the unhealthy part to see if it will just fall off like it was supposed to do a long time ago, but it still seems to be attached to the healthy part of the nail somewhat firmly.

I'm confused at what is happening here. Surely my toenail must still be growing. And there aren't any signs around the nail to indicate that there is something wrong. But I cannot figure out why the unhealthy part of the nail has stopped moving if it is still attached to the part of the nail that is growing. Anyone seen anything like this before?

I would assume the healthy nail is growing underneath the dead one but I'm obviously just guessing
