We have a few real ones. Australia doesn't need to import any.

Should I buy an 8 GB iphone from verizon for $65 on a 2 year plan?
05-18-2012 , 07:50 PM
Well only you could answer that Q.

I would warn you that a new version should be popping up in the next few months.

I would play with an Android and iPhone to see which one you prefer as well. You're giving up LTE with an iPhone, so if you live in a large city that would be sad. Unless the new version will have it.

Verizon is getting rid of the unlimited data plans when people upgrade in the future. So I need to upgrade before they get scrap the grandfather clause.

In the near future, when you upgrade your phone with Verizon, you won't be able to keep your unlimited data plan.

Also, I don't currently live in a big city, so 4G is probably 2 years away for me. I live in a city with like 25k people.

Verizon just announced they are scrapping the unlimited data plans for everyone next year, grandfathered or not, if you switch to an LTE plan or get a new phone on contract.

Some bull**** imo smh.

At the moment, you’re not going to be able to walk into Verizon and start up a new Unlimited Data plan – that no longer exists for new customers.

Ok I am confused now.

I was in chat earlier with a verizon sales chat person and they said, I wouldn't lose my grandfather unlimited data.

idk man

Sometimes the CSR's have nfi what is going on.

From what I read, it basically agreed with Amp. If you buy a new discounted phone you lose your unlimited plan.

You have two options to keep your unlimited data: Don't upgrade your phone or buy a phone for full price.

google news helps

When Does Verizon's Policy Take Effect?
Unlimited data users who are eligible for an upgrade right now should run to their closest Verizon store to get a new phone at the subsidized price. Once the carrier introduces its multi-device shared data plans, expected midsummer, the new policy of paying full price for a phone to keep your unlimited data plan will take effect.

you have it Mac, if you currently have a grandfathered plan, upgrade now

but it's unlimited data on 3G so idk if that's really such a big deal
05-18-2012 , 08:31 PM
when does this new galaxy phone come out?

im in the market

can i get it with tmobile
05-18-2012 , 08:32 PM
That sucks, but isn't surprising.

I use a lot of data (I run a hotspot a lot of the time), and am eligible for an upgrade this fall; looks like I won't have any easy choices.
05-18-2012 , 08:33 PM
ive heard you can buy phone full price to get a better price on your plan

and by heard i mean one person told me once
05-18-2012 , 08:33 PM
Galaxy S III is targeted for May 28th and should be available on almost all carriers.

It's kind of a big deal.

This is true, if you read the entire link I posted above, it says that, directly from a verizon rep.

I only quoted the timing part cuz I didn't want to inundate you all.

4G will be covered too

Then Verizon Said...

It appears that Shammo may have been offering a prediction rather than a corporate policy. Unlimited data users will have to give up an unlimited data plan only if they purchase a subsidized phone when renewing a two-year contract. In other words, if later this year you go into Verizon to upgrade to the latest iPhone and buy the phone for $200, you can kiss your unlimited data plan goodbye.

But if you shelled out the non-subsidized price for the device, about $650 for a 16GB iPhone 4S from Verizon, you keep your unlimited plan.

What about 3G vs. 4G Phones?
Raney says it doesn't matter what kind of phone you get. If you pay full price for your handset you can keep your unlimited plan, even if you get an LTE phone such as the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx.

i rarely read or listen to anything anyone says

if it seems like i did it was probably just coincidence
05-18-2012 , 08:38 PM
i spilled hot sauce on myself
05-18-2012 , 08:39 PM
Amp,

Before I hit the purchase button, are there any really good droid phones out there that you know of right now, that are under $100 with a plan that rock?
