Teleporting doesnt sound too charming if you cant turn it off either tbh ... I mean, we can safely assume that its an at-will power that is completely controllable right ? If not teleporting is going to get you killed pretty quickly.

Mind reading destroys the idea of trust. Also, wtf do I want to hear the stupid thoughts in other peoples heads?

Teleportation is insanely useful and, depending on the mechanic, could completely overwrite our understanding of physics. Want to eat at a restaurant in Hamburg, no problem. Go for drinks in Tahiti? I'm there. Never have to worry about cars or planes or forgetting something ever again. Never have to worry about taking a dump someplace gross or where they have crappy TP? Awesome. The list just goes on and on.

Teleportation is much more likely to be active and mind reading passive, like the difference between walking and hearing.

Yeah but you can only do all of that alone. It also doesn't necessarily make you money in an easy way* unlike mind reading can in several ways. You can get to the riches and basically do anything you want for the rest of your life. The control you have over people is huge when you can read their minds. And lets not forget, you can turn it off and have perfect control which means you're not annoyed by it but only use it when needed.

*Unless the specifics of teleportation lets you bring stuff than you can become a (drugs) courier. You will die sooner.

as fnord says, that control over people is going to ruin you as a person, i think, with high likelihood, and i'm not sure why the mind reading gets you money much more directly and certainly than teleporting, barring maybe cards, i guess, but then you have the trouble of not being too good.

Teleporting alone (and arriving naked) is definitely going to be less valuable than being able to blink you and others to somewhere all together, for sure, but it's still going to be an asset. I still see mind reading as potentially worse than useless

That sounds a lot like we're too weak to handle it and therefor take the suboptimal option. And you could make money in many ways imo, probably easiest in sales and gambling though. Dont forget, if you can read minds you dont need samples but you can just go out and pick up money. I do agree with probably becoming a spoiled/possibly messed up human being but its also likely to vary per person. Teleporting might also pose a serious risk to your health when you're drunk and decide to teleport yourself to Mars or something.
