Where I am going in CR in a month is 4 1200-1500 sq villas, with a few rooms and a master bedroom right on the beach in a private secluded area..

the 4th villa is owned by the people who run it.. They charge between 200-250/night

so if u figure they are making at absolute most 700*365= 255,500 (-.09% vacancy throughout the year) = 229,950/year in revenue..

Expenses must be a decent amount as these places are nice, so they probably are making a solid 100k a year combined income which I think is a lot in that part of the world.

so pub was arguing about what goes through a girl's head when she is possibly pregnant. it seems like the girls mostly came down on one side, and guys on the other. i think i am going to go with the girls on this one. they probably know better what they think and feel then guys do.

+1 to not getting involved in other people's relationships.

I think it largely depends on the status of the relationship.

If it's under a year, idk if she worries about a scare with her friends first.

If it's getting to a year and she goes to her friends first, she's immediately loses my heart and I slowly start walking away emotionally from the relationship.

Someone needs to point out that there is a fieldfare itt.

Brag: I saw my first one in New Brunswick. (They're exclusively Eurasian ... supposedly. This one had gotten confused — that whole turn left at Iceland thing, I guess.) The trip to see it was one of my colder camping experiences: Well below zero (I think it supposedly got to –8°F — that's about –22 C for you Euro folks), sleeping on the road because the snow drifts were too deep to find a flat spot.

Beat: TL and I may have seen one in Scotland, but I forget. And I never did enter the sightings from that trip into my records.

Variance: I think kokiri just got me to post in Pub.

had a piece of baguette with omelet and bacon, complemented it with a croissant with some apricot jam and a big cup of coffee. :-)

In the army I had to sleep in the forest with -22F. Was not very fun when you had to wake up middle of the night to go to the patrol.

Waking up in the night was one of the most annoying things in army. Usually it was pretty damn cold to get out from your sleeping bad and if you had sleep like only 3-4 hours per day on average then waking up was pretty hard thing to do. But I was on anti-aircraft unit and some other units had much tougher life, so I can't complain too much.

I have not spent any yet.

If this is about my comment about 100k being a lot, I have relatives from that part of the world and I understand the differences very well.

It can still be expensive to be able to purchase the things you want that are not easily available, and to import certain foods you like.

On Ecuador: http://www.economist.com/node/21543491

$800/mo pension gets you in.

Xnerd 100% correct, expecting your girlfriend to go to you first before she knows is just nuts.

And moreover, having been there, why in the world would you ever ever ever want that?

If married and/or trying to get pregnant, probably different. If not trying, that's a disaster.

hehe it hit -22.9 C here last night. If the snow clears off the ice and it keeps up for another week or 2 we might be looking at an Elfstedentocht. Also translated as 11 city tour. a 125 mile ice skating tour on natural ice. It's a pretty amazing event but last edition was in 1997. I've never conciously followed one in my life and i hope it finally happens.

They're winter visitors here. They come into the fields when it's really cold and in flocks. There have been some about all week.

It's snowed 0 to 60 here in about and hour. I dunno how deep it is, but i may nip out to see what the thermometer says the temperature says it's been
02-04-2012 , 03:42 PM
First proper snow of the season here. TR if there's enough for a snowball fight.
02-04-2012 , 03:43 PM
do nip out

i dunno. My relationships have always been pretty intense, and so whenever i've been involved in a pregnancy scare (which has happened really quite a lot, in retrospect) it's always been us doing it, not her. But i think being so rigid as to expect it to be one way alone is just being a bit dumb
02-04-2012 , 03:53 PM
nipped out.

There's not much snow on the ground, although it's still snowing pretty hard. The thermometer (which keeps a max/min recorded as well as the current temp) was showing -9 (centigrade) which i guess was last night or maybe the one before. I get that that's chicken feed to a lot of you, but we to we sissy southern english that's pretty much siberia

Damn, that would be wonderful, if it's what I think it is — just a big free-for-all community skate?
