Just for the record, the College Softball World Series got higher TV ratings then the NHL Stanley Cup Championship at one point.

My top 5 worries wrt LKC :
world war 3 and related turmoil
Global warming and related turmoil
The decline of the uk education system
Mental health
His habit of trying to climb out of the car seat when we're on the motorway
Accidents

I would just want her to have reasonably high self-esteem and be an honest, caring person. For some reason as a society we fail miserably in that regard. Boys and girls are dead even in confidence until about 11 years old and then girls just plummet.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that mets wasn't banned because of ideological perspective.

just a kind of generalized opinion i've developed over the years working with kids and families. it seems that parents who tend to be more selfish, they are more hopeful that their kids are powerful. and the parents who tend to be more loving, they are more hopeful that their kids are happy.

I'd have no problem with my daughter being sexually active from a reasonable and legal age.

Hated to put June ahead of May because of the KY derby, but I do love some NBA playoffs.
You guys are insane!

I will make a list later which shows my list that is very very different than yours

I wouldn't put it like that, but if the time ever comes where for some reason she tells me her problems with guys, I will mention that most guys that she considers friends also have some sort of extra feelings for her and don't be shy to tell them.

parents are (hopefully) some of the few people you can be sure have your best interests at heart, even if they are sometimes misguided

I think if I had a daughter I'd tell her a whole bunch of really good life stuff that she would completely ignore and probably resent me for.

exactly, it's a healthy part of human life from about 16 on, having some puritanical witchhunt about it isn't helping anything.

Yeah at a certain point I think I will be fine with it. Or I just won't think about so so obv it doesn't happen

Probably because guys have like a million outs to be celebrated by society, and women only have "be hot and get guys to worship you" which only happens to a small fraction of them.

High self esteem is def the #1 thing I want in my kids, self-esteem is so great I couldn't imagine life without it.

I don't think my parents have my best interests at heart. They have what they think are my best interests at heart, but they don't know what my best interests are because they don't understand me particularly well.

You are looking at this way wrong.

She has two older athletic brothers to scare away and beat any guy's ass that is interested in her.

Pretty much optimal, imo.

I also think you can tell what type of parent a child had by the way that child acts/talks. with some exceptions of course

My daughter will never have sex until marriage, but I'll give dating advice to my son, get in there, lad.
