Isnt sweden like 95% ethnically the same. You can't just compare two countries with hundreds of differences then point to one thing as the reason for statistic x

Would you say that is a fair statement?
I really don't think I'm qualified to answer for my whole nation and compare it to what the average american would think. I agree we have good social security and realize one of the tradeoffs is less opportunity for the elite to earn a ****load. I'm ok with that but don't really think it makes us morally superior to the US.

We don't want to become socialist nation.

Therefore we have an Income Gap. Sucks to be Poor. We're Sorry. Work Harder.

A completely capitalist society is such a terrible thing. Are there good parts of capitalism? Of course... I have no qualms admitting such. The problem is that the positive values of capitalism are skewed to such a degree here in the states that they don't resemble what they are meant to. The idea of getting a chance to become wealthy off the strength of your won fortitude and ingenuity is great. there are just too many negatives with the system for it to be the basis of a great society. Namely, that if you start off at the bottom, the chance that you can get anywhere close to that point is near nil. So eventually it leads to a generation of people at the bottom giving birth to children who are at the bottom, they subsequently get as little chances as the previous generation that had very few chances to begin with, and then have their own families that also start at the bottom, and on, and on and on.

We do not take care of people in the US, because it cuts into our bottom line. That is the travesty of a capitalist society.

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

How do you think my Colts will do this year? Will it be a transition year with Luck? Are they playoff bound? Realistically how long do rookie QB's take to become legit QB's?

It a good place to be if you those things are what is most important to you. I can see several reasons why I would prefer the US.

For myself, I've always been thinking that I'd like to work abroad most of my life, but I would let my children grow up in Sweden. Lately I'm not even sure of that because the school becomes worse year by year.

It's not even just working harder. You need to keep control of your own finances. If you find that you are barely getting by on your salary and have nothing set aside for a rainy day, you need to figure out how to either cut expenses or raise your revenue.

I was out of work for nearly 3 years, but because my wife and I planned our finances correctly prior to the **** hitting the fan, we were able to use our savings (in addition to unemployment benefits) to pay our bills.

People who complain that they don't have enough cash, but still have the newest cell phones, all kinds of jewelry, a new car, etc. are setting themselves up for economic failure, should they lose their job.

Your last sentence sums up exactly what I meant. Work harder slacker. I'm sure if you keep smiling and take all those people's orders really nicely, you can be manager in ten or fifteen years. Then, if you work 60-80 hours a week, you might make enough to get an apartment in a little nicer part of town. Who knows, maybe your children will get a better education than you did, and in five or six generations your family might be wealthy enough to be considered middle class. I'm sorry your public school sucked because you were raised in a poor area. But check out this sexy new tank we just bought!

My family went from being pretty much dirt poor to having 3 very well off siblings in 2 generations.

Also I'm a bit worried master thinks too highly about swedish welfare. If you lose your job and don't study, you'll survive, but you won't have fun. :P
