To be successful in the NFL, it is an lolobvious statement to say you need a good/great QB to be successful (i.e. win)

Therefore:

Brian Billick must be the GOAT coach considering he won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer.

/end argument
I'd say that he probably did the best coaching job for a single season that I've ever seen when he won the Super Bowl with that stiff.

Supine, I am having a discussion (somehow about politics) in the religion forum. Would you agree or disagree with the following statement?

I wouldn't mind seeing our country further up the ranks of the happiness list like the majority of the socialized countries out there. We suck at being happy because there are so many of us who have been beaten down. You cannot look at our system and say that everybody has the same chance as everybody else to reach the top, because it isn't true. The Scandis are happy because they know that they have a shot, or at least are living in an area where the government cares enough about them to take care of them if their chips are down. All we know in America is that if we don't do good enough, if we run into a bad run of luck, if we get **** on by somebody who cheats their way to the top only to send us crashing to the bottom, the only thing we will have is a chance to sleep under an overpass and hope not to die of exposure.
Well...I'd say if you have problems, Sweden is a better place of living than America, sure. But most people do not have problems. An ambitious young person might prefer America; it's easy to earn enough to have a good life in Sweden, but it's hard to earn enough to have a filthy good life.

I'm always wary of measurements of happiness.
06-19-2012 , 01:35 PM
why would anyone need a reason, your points are pure conjecture

besides that lol "happiness list"

lobotomies for everyone!

The reason is I disagree with your entire premise and conclusion. Just say the opposite and you'll know my stance.
06-19-2012 , 01:37 PM
like, I don't really agree with the statement "the scandis are happy". I don't think poor scandis are happy, and I don't think well-off scandis are happy because they know they will not be living on existence minimum if they get laid off.

But if you're just saying "scandi countries should be proud of their social security" then yes, sure.
06-19-2012 , 01:40 PM
Man that was one dumb post. Yes I guess you can be happier there if you want to do absolutely nothing and make you life off the work of others
06-19-2012 , 01:41 PM
Also the thing you quoted seems to suggest everyone has an equal chance in Sweden, which obv isn't true. It's not a marxist paradise. ;>

Yes, I'm sure everyone in the Scandis have had part of their brain removed. That makes sense.

This is what Supine said earlier "it's easy to earn enough to have a good life in Sweden, but it's hard to earn enough to have a filthy good life. "

This isn't the case in the US, it is HARD to earn enough to have a good life in the States, it is hard to KEEP making enough to live a good life in the US, for a large majority of us, we know we aren't much farther away than the company we work for looking to cut jobs, or folding completely before we might be out on the streets.

So would you say coaches should get credit for having great defenses, but not great offenses?

I kinda ran my two thoughts together. I think on the whole, people are less fearful of being completely ****ed by the system and not protected by the government if something like that happens.

Would you say that is a fair statement?

I disagree with this, but we should take it to politics if we want to go into it further.

I would say that coaches who get lucky on a 6th round draft pick should not be called GOAT when they have shown that they have a losing record without said 6th rounder.

Is it really? I am all for bragging about the awesomeness of my country and don't mind the occasional US trolling, but it seems to me most americans have an easy time to get a college degree and can afford vacation and often your own home.

Like, I'm sure its a lot more misery among the miserable and wider income gaps - but for the average joe, I don't tihnk we are superior.

Except that we're healthy, secular and have hotter girls.

Seriously, move. It sounds like you don't like the basis of capitalism, and the USA is kinda all about capitalism so you're never gonna be happy here.

My idea of paradise right here. You also live longer.

I think one of the biggest problems in the US is the income Gap, so you can imagine why I think of the majority of Scandinavia as a pretty good place to be. Not to mention ALL of your social programs systematically rape ours.
