Let's get this thread back on track.

My kids needed some school supplies; one has a project due, the other two wanted to get stuff and not bed left out (of all the office supply purchases).

So we stopped by Target, got our supplies, and waited on line for the self checkout since it seemed it would be quicker that the regular ones.

We're 2nd in line and there are 3 kiosks (not kioshks) working. The lady with 2 kids in front of us takes the available kiosk, and we wait. The far one opens up; as we are walking over, a lady and her teenage daughter cut diagonally from behind a counter and get there before us. The lady who was in front of us, says to the other lady, "There's a line." She's ignored and gives me an apologetic looks. I give the obligatory "It's all good, thanks for trying" gesture, despite being in a little hurry.

The lady who swooped in must suck at self checkouts because her light started flashing for help. The lady who was in front of me in line finishes and leaves. We go up, scan, pay, and finish. The Swooper was still waiting for help.

I couldn't find the "Immediate Self Own" thread, so you got/had to read it.

A number of years ago while working at a restaurant, a lady decides to park in a To-Go spot while she proceeds to come in for her 2+ hour dinner. One guest even sees her and makes a comment loud enough she can hear. Woman gets pissed, manager steps in, everyone calms down, life goes on.

As she is leaving, after having a drink or two (more??) she accidentally puts her car into drive, runs directly into the To-Go sign, which falls on her and messes up her car.

Justice is sweet.

yesterday on phone i wasn't able to get into the sxite at a wendys saying the site was dangerous.

when i'm at home lately if i leave the window open (which i do) it eventually goes "aw snap" like there was a web script crash.

is something happening lately?

IIRC, Wendy's wifi has blocked 2p2 for probably 10 years.

Its self reported as a "gambling" website. Its blocked a bunch of places.

Brag: In home buying news, inspection came back super squeaky clean. Agent said it's the best maintained house and cleanest inspection that she's ever seen.

Beat: The appraisal came back 6k under contract price, and the seller refuses to negotiate at all, (I think they might be taking a net loss on the house), so I've gotta put down the cash to make up the difference.

Variance: The every 10 year tax appraisals for my town came in just a few days after the lender appraisal, and it was for 30k higher than the contract price. Wtf?

So you have to pay more taxes and also more money.

Think you can contest the tax one with your bank appraisal if you want.

Yeah, once I move in I can (and will) contest the tax one. Still pretty silly that they are so different though.
