Thats because 95% of our written communication is done electronically. Think of it as a delete key for penned communication

I just googled whiteout to post a picture of the little bottle. They don't even make it any more it looks like. There's some bic whiteout but not that stuff we used to have in the little black and white bottle.

you can't be that old!

i had a typewriter in elementary school and then got a dot matrix printer for my trs-80 color computer that i used in middle/high school

I'm five years younger than you mets.

I mean, computers were AROUND but email and the interwebs were still not that widely used when I started college (1994). Typewriters were way cheaper, and my family was on the poor side, hence the typewriter. We had a computer lab in HS but other than to learn typing and write the occasional paper or play a game they weren't used much.

My first roommate in college did have a computer, but also one of those old dot matrix printers (our college computer lab mostly had those too), and she'd print **** off at like 5 in the morning. We were not the best of friends.

I have a TRS-80 that I got free from a lady that was giving me some books. It was like a "you don't know anyone who likes computers do you??" thing. It's in my office at the moment, but there's no monitor. I need to figure out how to hook it up to something more modern, which shouldn't be too hard, but it's low on my priority list.
