I'd somehow missed the existence of this game until you posted this. Fun little game. Defense Mode was pretty easy since I'm good at Bloons TD 5 but Assault Mode had quite a bit of a learning curve. Still, though, after doing some research and getting some experience I'm now winning 75% of the time (37-11 after creating a new account). What amazes me is that so few of my opponents are competent at attacking. A lot of my opponents have winning records over 500+ games. Each time the grouped Rainbows are unlocked, I'm paranoid that my opponents will rush me before I can get my own rush off... and it never comes. And if they have good defense against the rainbows they even let me sit around in peace for 2 rounds until I can rush them with ceramics. They can never defend against it yet they don't have enough money to attack me either. I should go pro... for the most part I don't even bother learning the superior mortar/boomers strategy because I win so easily with the basic towers.

I took it too personally, ldo, but I'd just been accepted to music school and it felt like a personal affront for whatever reason.

It also bothered me that an educator was teaching kids bull**** and these kids are fairly dumb so they're not going to figure it out on their own, they're going to internalize this bull**** bc a Christian authority figure taught it to them, and then they believe it and teach it to their dumbass kids and the cycle continues. Sigh.

Had the same issue come up when I pressed for a drummer for the church choir.

They almost burned me for a witch

(Years later, they integrated "modern music" but only bc the pastors son took up guitar. )
Good Ole Christian hypocricy

good post! i've only played attack mode a couple of times, and it was by accident. i didn't know what was going on. it sounds interesting though. it's probably better than defense mode.

i've been surprised by how much you can squeeze out of the game if you really maximize efficiency. in defense mode on most maps i get the 7500 income boost by round 18.

i think you start off with 50 energy points? and a match is 5 energy. you can use your medallions to increase your energy bank. my bank is now 150 energy points, so i never have to wait to play.

im going to sleep now, but we should battle some other time. my username is filthyvermin

Just ripped apart my entire vape troubleshooting because it stopped working. I cleaned it, changed the coil, checked the manual, checked the charger. No vapor.

Was about to give up and then I remembered to check the most obvious and simplest thing possible.

Battery was on too tight.

I have such mixed feelings about vapes. Seems like everyone who uses them just gets 3x as addicted to nicotine but at least they're not smoking
12-08-2014 , 11:42 AM
Lol nicotine
12-08-2014 , 11:43 AM
Nicotine addiction absent inhalation of smoky carcinogens isn't even a health concern.

who vapes nicotine

Wait, vape =e-cigarette?

This is almost as surprising as the whole buffalo wings thing.

it used to exclusively mean "device for getting your weed on" afaik but I think the definition has expanded. Both of my friends who smoke have these goofy looking vaporizer e-cig thingies

I'm not an expert :P

Quick tips for Assault:

* Send balloons nonstop, since that boosts your income. They pay for themselves in just 2.5 minutes. Beware though that the ceramics and MOABs actually decrease your income, so you only send those when you're sure it will work.

* You need to have good coverage against everything: fast bloons, clusters, camo, lead, MOABs. The trickiest thing is camo lead since there aren't many towers that can both detect and attack it. Mortar is popular because it strips camo from the bloons it hits, thus letting all towers target it. The buccaneers are also a good option of you can place them near the start because the second path of upgrades gives both camo detection and lead-popping ability. Plus that tower is really versatile and performs well against everything. Ninja Monkeys can also be upgraded to pop lead balloons but it's an expensive upgrade. The other option is Snipers upgraded to 1/2, which is what I use on maps with no water since I haven't gotten the hang of Mortars yet.

* If your opponent doesn't have his towers up near the entrance, you can use this to your advantage to send a wave of slower bloons followed by faster bloons, so that both waves merge and hit at the same time. The cluster of slow bloons is effective just as a wall that absorbs hits and protects the faster bloons as they are on approach.

* Starting in Round 8, you can send Regrow bloons. I believe that if they regrow back to black/white/zebra/rainbow, they will then split again when popped. I haven't been able to verify this, but I do know that sending Regrow Rainbows has been super effective. I always saved up and send 4-5 sets of grouped Regrow Rainbows unless my opponent has excellent defense against clusters, such as a Ring of Fire. Against defenses that excel at killing clusters (that is, defenses that fire few shots but with huge popping power), I just wait two rounds to send the spaced (regrow) ceramics. They are actually more cost effective, and those defenses are quite slow at getting the outer layer popped. Sometimes I get entire ceramics through the defense.

* Always be analyzing your opponent's defenses. You're going to be sending bloons nonstop anyway to grow your economy, so you might as well try to actually keep him in trouble. Even if nothing gets through, you keep him on the defensive. If his towers are spaced apart, use Regrow. If he doesn't have a lead-popping bloon near the entrance, send leads. If he has slow-firing towers, try to slip fast bloons past him. If he has limited popping power, send clusters and overwhelm him. If a lot of his defense doesn't have camo detection, send a camo rush (but camo is expensive so you want to make sure this will work before you send it).

* A good opponent will send you nonstop bloons starting from Round 2, so you need to have an opening setup that can handle them while also allowing you to send bloons yourself. I usually do a 2/1 Ninja or a 2/0 Bomb, in either case taking the third upgrade partway into Round 2, just as soon as I can afford it without stopping the flow of bloons. Starting from Round 4 you can send pinks, so you need to be prepared to deal with them as well. The 3/1 Ninja can handle them pretty easily so I often have one of those plus either a Bomb or Buccaneer. After that you don't need to worry much except to be sure you have camo detection by Round 8, and lead camo detection by Round 12.

* Sending a blue MOAB costs 1500. A red MOAB costs 2500 and is available two rounds later. If you have the 1500 and want to use it, there's really no reason to not just wait two rounds... you can save a bit more and send two of the red ones. Only bad thing is that they move ****ing slow as hell so in the meantime you need to make sure your own defense is okay... and sending those things will take away all of your income. So just make sure you can hold out for a full round before pulling the trigger.

The hardest thing for me was that I had to learn what every upgrade for every tower does... there are a bunch which I never use. But it's crucial not just for developing your own strats but more importantly so that you can read your opponent's defense to see what it is strong and weak against. Otherwise you're just guessing at what sort of attack to send.

this thing is amazing, other than lol 8.1 and the crappy apps it comes pre-downloaded with. but damn

Ya I know this, just seen a few people use them, go back to smoking and they were then smoking 50% more since they were so accustomed to constant nicotine
12-08-2014 , 12:51 PM
Yah vape = ecig for me

Basically the best thing ever

And yeah, what amp said. Nicotine addiction is fine health wise. But smoking kills. And antismoking commercials are everyones punishment.

for some reason it started at 95% battery tho, i plugged it in as suggested and it just stays at 95 and says "plugged in, not charging"

Huh, I've been assuming xnerd's been talking about her bong as well. Thought it sounded like she was getting through a lot of weed.

Idk what kokiri's confusion about buffalo wings was tho. Ain't no wings on a buffalo.

When I speak of vaping I am definitely not talking about e-cigarettes.
12-08-2014 , 01:15 PM
I had a nasty habit of smoking spliffs these last 2 months.

I won't even smoke a J these days. When my vape was out of commission I survived on edibles.
