Has anyone else ever wondered just how the ox and lamb kept time in The Little Drummer Boy? What, did they stomp their hooves to the beat on the barn floor? I don't get it.

Why not? When I played in the HS band I kept time that way sometimes.

What really bugs me about that song is why Joseph didn't kick the stupid punk out of the barn before he played his first note. I understand Mary nodding because she's about to nod off having just pumped out a kid. But Joseph should know better. Everybody else is bring gold and mir and all kinds of cool gifts, and this kid shows up with some cheap percussion cylinder and wants to bang on it for for awhile? "I got a *newborn* here, jackass...maybe it's not the best time to rock a drum solo...you ever think of that?"

I don't know. I like Bob Seger's version.
