Some dude in England outsourced his job to India for a fraction of the cost.

Got fired.

But, after getting a bunch of cash for it

While I 100% agree with the sarcastic point you're trying to make here,
It's sort of lol to assume that this dude did the due diligence on the person he hired / had the contractual / IT ability to protect the data he was sending internationally.

like the bosses do due diligence?

supreme court just ruled that whatever usa evil corp was ok to use child labor cuz it was african child labor!

factories in china have suicide nets cuz too many workers kill themelves.

Eh. I probably live in a bubble of how well my company does things. I suppose that's not a valid extrapolation that other companies do the same

I think its field specific.

Banking, food production, and clothing rely on exploitation so struggle.

Tech, etc etc, rely on middle class workers & have much less environmental footprint so can get away with it more (although, all the AI, fake news, and destruction of the high street stuff does show they have their own evils.)

Mega corps are evil in ways they have the means to be evil is my point.

Growing up being taught you weren't supposed to cheat and to site sources and use original ideas, what a scam.

There was a good story of a guy who worked at, let's say, Google, who didn't know how to code, just kept getting put in different groups where he couldn't do anything, and eventually left to his own.

Based on people I know who talk about work most people are bad at their jobs.
08-09-2021 , 02:48 PM
Most people believe two things fervently:

1) "Everyone I work with is bad at their jobs, even ESPECIALLY my boss(es)."
2) "I am the bee's knees, incomparable, mothereffing untouchable badass employee that the company would cease to continue operating without."

you notice how the headlines lately are like

"global pandemic killing millions"

"we are in the middle of climate apocalypse"

"fires, floods, mass evictions"

"billionaires going to space"
08-09-2021 , 04:42 PM
billionaires buying new zealand citizenship
08-09-2021 , 04:44 PM
Quite a few climate ones for sure. A decent amount of "won't you think of the children". Pretty sure I saw a cleverly disguises carvana ad.

Lots of things about worker shortages as well.
