So if last month was the Last Pub Before The End Of The World

and this month the Pub is Closed, Stay Home

will that make May's Pub: POG Pub Underground, Return of the Speakeasy?

I've got the male pattern baldness thing going (since I was about 20 years old) which means it only looks okay when it's super short. I get it cut once a month and it takes about 15 minutes, which is a lot more time than it probably should take. Anyhow, I'm not going to be going to any barber shops any time soon so I shaved it all off today. The beard too. It's weird looking at myself in the mirror. I recognize the guy staring back at me, but it's been a while.

A few nights ago I lost consciousness in the shower and fell. I woke up unable to put weight on my left leg and couldn't stand. After literal hours trapped in the bathroom I managed to get to my phone on the counter. The paramedics had to break down the door to take me to the ER.

Nothing like having four impossibly fit and good looking twenty-something males staring down at your half washed naked middle-aged body to make you feel embarrassed and self-conscious.

So yeah, that was a low point. On the plus side, I didn't break anything, just tore up my knee. We don't really know how bad it is yet.

On the other hand, when I fell asleep this afternoon, I was to sleep as long as I wanted, wake up, cuddle the cat, watch trashy TV and eat greek yogurt with honey and pecans and call it dinner. This is the upside of living alone.

LOL.

Reminds me of this episode..

Also, if you start to feel very low, don't hesitate to call a crisis line. You don't have to be suicidal, just in crisis, and sometimes all you need is someone to reach out to.

And yes, you can almost certainly get telecounseling in this day and age if you feel it would help you. Or send me a pm...I keep crazy hours and am often awake at strange times.

Just remember, nothing lasts forever.

true true, im basically always self isolated anyway, but ill talk to my brother and nephew on facetime for a couple hours. ill just have the phone on my table and they will be playing piano and its basically like we r hanging out.

o i remember you said you had dry skin in a previous post VR, i found that my diet really influence how my skin is. i actually cut dairy out of my diet. a lot of people are lactose intolerant and dont know it... i know i react bad to sugar and stuff like white bread

This is literally my biggest fear living alone, holy crap I'm glad you're ok!

I once slipped in the shower and fell and hit my head, but thankfully nothing major - double thankfully as my phone was downstairs in the kitchen. Shocked me into keeping my phone on me at all times.

But it's definitely a mixed bag quarantining alone. My friends are really good at checking in, and there are definitely days where it sounds awful to be stuck at home with 2+ small children while trying to home school and work from home at the same time - at times like that I'm glad I'm on my own. Then I remember how long it's been since I saw a person and freak out a bit.

I don't think it's good for anyone

A couple nights ago at midnight the fire alarm went off for my floor. I got to meet all my neighbors, we were isolated in the lobby together while the firemen handled some overcooked food.. Pajamas and masks for everyone!

Is Ricky the best comedian around now?

My dad's just received his second care package from the government, and I'm suspicious at how efficient they're being - pleasantly surprised, but suspicious

He's very good, but no. Norm MacDonald is the best, also Bill Burr. And Louis CK too, if he's defined to still be around.

But Gervais is a confirmed genius at exposing fashionable showbiz hypocrisy, very courageous that way imo. He does it right to their smug faces and gets away with it.

The IPad saga continues:

Finally got upgraded to High Sierra. Upgraded ITunes. Installed all updates. Plug the mother ****er in to restore and I have gotten this message three time. Help says to just try again so I tried 3 times.

****ing expensive ass paperweight. I’m so pissed.

I'm not an expert but my family has a bunch of ipads.

Are you sure you are putting the ipad in recovery mode?

Also try different cables.

If you still can't get it to work, put the ipad in DFU mode and then restore it.

Yes it is in recovery mode, has the whole cable to computer picture on the screen. I will try a different cable.

What is DFU mode?

It's the low level restore for idevices. It bypasses booting the device.

Google how to enter DFU, it's a bit tricky.

I’ll look it up. I am at the end of my knowledge as far as what to try. And my ultimate goal here is to just set it back to factory settings, I’m not worried about restoring anything. I just need to use it.

Thanks for the info POG Pub April 2020 ((LC/NSFW)) April has been Canceled, Stay home

Last year I was hoping to reset the tyre pressure sensor on my ford, and the way to do it was like a special move on street fighter 2: like accelerator accelerator, brake, keys on, keys off, flash the headlights, left button left button triangle triangle star.

Have consumed my daily quota of beers and it's only 6:30. Considering whether to move on to gin and tonics.

It's even harder. Because you need to hold buttons for 5 seconds each.
