We lunched at a Japanese restaurant which was excellent. As we ordered she explained to the waiter that we'd share the dishes (yes, SHARE!!!*).
We ordered assorted tempura and chicken teriyaki and 4 pieces of sushi as starter. I had japanese beer like a boss. Everything was really superbly done and she really went off during dinner telling me how she loves Miyazaki, the writer and creator of Spirited Away among others, because a song that was playing at the restaurant happened to be the central theme song of "My Neighbour Totoro" also by Miyazaki.
She commented it was small things like that one that made some moments like this so much more special as I smiled on and nodded. She went on about her loving animation films and that she'd have loved to actually work in that instead of being a doctor back when she was little.
(*This is the same woman that said she didn't like my sharing bits of dishes with her on a second date or whatever the number of dates had been, since she didnt feel we were close enough for that plus it was too cutesy on my part that early.)
She wanted to split the bill, which I naturally allowed.
Then we walked around the city center for a few hours, hoping to watch the religious processions of the holy week, you may have seen a mis-representation of them in Mission Impossible II but the risk of rain was too great and the Christs and Virgins are carved in wood and centuries old, and cannot risk getting wet, so one by one they cancelled their outings through the city to the dismay of the multitude of would-be-onlookers.
It didnt bother us much at all since that was merely an excuse for the date in my mind. She played it down as well, we were hand in hand, which seemed to matter way more.
At some point I jokingly suggested I'd kiss her every time she made a crude comment about anything, so she would become more aware of it, she suggested it wouldn't work and I replied: At least we will kiss some more. We both laughed and it was agreed.
I proceeded to kiss her three or four times during the rest of the evening in response to crude comments, just one them was aimed at me mind you, and it was just a glancing blow at that, but she liked it and accepted the implicit criticism very well and we both laughed every time it happened. Nice.
We had a soft drink somewhere and after that we walked some more as I cunningly guided us to the riverside since her feet were aching a bit from the heels, we sat there for a while as well, some of the time with her on my lap, some of the time side by side.
One of those ships that tourists take to do a tour of the river passed in front of us whilst we were there, and I greeted it with my hand as it passed and some people greeted me back. She found this a bit childish and I told her she would know, being so old and all. (she's 1 month and a half younger than I).
After a small back and forth she came around to accepting my doing it was okay, but not something she'd do. I dont usually ever greet a passing ship, but I did it for the hell of it. And a guy greeted me back. Holla!
We strolled near the riverside for a bit and it started to rain lightly after some time but it didnt bother us too much since we were kissing pretty intensely when it started. We hurried away into some shelter but the rain was light enough we decided to keep our course pretty much and wind our way back to my place (and her car)(the processions were wise to cancel their outings, the wooden representations of Christ and the Virgin would have gotten wet had they gone out)
We caught a procession of romans on the way, which consists of a lot of people disguised as roman soldiers marching on, it's just colourful I guess, but it was a nice touch of folclore since the carved figures had been cancelled.
Once we were near my place she insisted we have a coffee or something (instead of wanting to leave) and so we did.
We quickly went to my place to grab an umbrella and I accompanied her to her car, with a somewhat more intense rain falling, me sheltering us under the umbrella, kinda romantic, you get the idea. Long story short: We kissed under the rain for a solid 10 minutes before we got into her car.
I ended a bit wet, but she was almost completely dry. She was a bit impressed by me taking more care of her than of myself. Didnt exactly word it like a compliment, since that's not how she's wired, but she mentioned it.
I also obv. sheltered her all the way as she opened her side of the car before entering myself through the other side, which is pretty standard in the world I live in, but I could tell she really liked it anyway.
A parting kiss or two as she dropped me off near my place and goodbye it was.
Im pretty calm right now, it's gone well this time, but there will surely be plenty of obstacles ahead, one day or one date at a time, see what happens, enjoy the good moments and try not to have many bad ones.
Thanks for tuning in, any comments appreciated as usual, not in much need of advice right this second, which is a nice change of pace
