yeah good point. i was just reacting to so many people feeling betrayed. but yeah, they shouldn't feel betrayed because someone would have to have been on your side at one point for them to ever betray you
it does seem like aoc has shifted pretty far to the right though. like when she was campaigning to win her first election, she seemed pretty genuine in her interest to help poor and working class people(at least within in the empire, cuz she had pretty much no interest in helping victims of the empire around the world)
i mean it seems like that aoc would have been more supportive of the railroad workers
house democrats voted 174 yes to 45 no for 858 billion the pentagon lol
Quote:
The new NDAA authorizes an $80 billion military spending increase over the 2022 bill, and $118 billion more than when President Joe Biden took office in 2021. The 2023 allocation is more than the combined military budgets of China, India, the United Kingdom, Russia, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea
Quote:
The $858 billion figure does not include additional spending on the U.S. nuclear arsenal, contributions to Ukraine's defense, or veterans' benefits
im listening to this podcast about hanford nuclear facility. do you know much about it?
according to this podcast it's incredibly dangerous. like it was the first nuclear facility, from back in ww2, and right now there is tons of waste there, and it could possibly explode and make the pacific northwest uninhabitable
the nuclear power argument is an interesting one. im pretty ignorant. iirc birdman is pretty pro nuclear power
they made what i thought was a good point on that podcast. they said if there is a disaster in a ukranian nuclear power plant right now, like in the war zone, then the whole debate around nuclear power will totally change
Seems every year we are getting a bit further from when we should have been using more nuclear energy. May just skip it at this point.
Seems kinda short-sighted. If we're ever going to get serious about slashing CO2 emissions full bore nuclear would very likely produce the best outcomes. And it's never to late to start.
