i learned from native twitter that height on a totem pole has nothing to do with rank. and people using that expression to signify rank don't understand the cultures that created totem poles

We have a totem pole in our town in the uk gifted to us by a native American tribe becusse we bought loads of wood from them

We get some **** occasionally about it for cultural appropriaton but that seems way off
