maybe it's just my bubble, but it seems like most people feel this way, not that they dwell on it all the time. but if they stop and think about it, then they feel this way.
most people work a job they don't enjoy, and for far less pay than they see others getting... cuz we see celebs etc...
also basically all workers are exploited, and sense it on some level. i mean the bosses are paying workers less than the workers produce so the bosses can keep a % for themselves.
the whole industry of advertising is to make us feel inadequate, and we are bombarded with more ads every day than we can even count
also feels bad to be contributing to the destruction of the planet, which we all are.
I think it's a subset within America. It's grossly oversimplifying it, but the primary subset is white liberals. If you're looking for people that profess to feel guilty about the environment, racism, sexism, ableism, anti-transamaphobianism and everything else, that's who it's going to be. Which is not to say it's wrong, it's just reality. Your other groups do not appear to feel anything like the same level of guilt.
And honestly, I think you overstate the discontent of the laboring class. There are plenty of folks who still buy into upward mobility, or are reasonably happy working for themselves, or who accept the wage that they're making. There's a reason that the labor movement had been in a death spiral until COVID and inflation arrived and it's not all due to management "brilliance" and/or goonery.
So again I don't think your ideas are wrong, just that the malaise is far less pervasive than you think.
