I agree 100%.

It's downright scary how sheepish most people are - it's as if people leave their better judgement at the door when they hear a public figure speak, whether its Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Al Franken, or whoever. People take too much of what they hear/read from (mostly) fringe media groups and personalities at face value.

Critical thinking ftl, unfortunately.

Well you can't expect the general public to understand the merits of reverse sheep vs sheep quite as quickly as the average POG-superbrain :P

thing is, the people who generally control the election are the independents (which is why candidates will trend towards the center subtly while attempting to not piss off their base) who by and large, understand that the Couler's, Limbaugh's, Franken's, Moores, etc pretty much just spew crap.

By control elections, I mean are the swing voters that every major candidate covets so much.

If most people ever had an original thought they would freak out and repent immediately.

the more stuff i've read the more i've come to realize that having an original thought is actually much tougher than I anticipated. So instead i've decided to focus on perfecting the use of monty python quotations.

imo the easiest original thoughts to come by are non-sensical mashings of various words.

i've been rereading walden lately and am willing to just take all my thoughts from that.

04-07-2009 , 02:37 PM
if thats the jaberwocky guy, then yes I have done some excercises like that in creative writing classes
04-07-2009 , 02:38 PM
that's lewis carroll. william s burroughs was the guy who wrote naked lunch and nova express.
04-07-2009 , 02:38 PM
I don't need to have original thoughts; I just need to say something the people around me have never heard before.

aside from the awesome title (2p2) there's nothing new about this. The government has been upgrading spy sattellites for decades.

Yeah, but I love the implications of the title.

Is there something specifically that you guys want to argue with me about?

Mark,

I'm more worried about the spy blimps than the spy satellites tbh

Oh...

I was just trying to give you a little heads up warning that the feds are catching on to your subversive ways.

No way is it a coincidence that the govt kicks off a secret spy satelite program named 2+2 after you began to out all their secret plans to us poggers.

RUN! (Cue Blade Runner music)

Mark,

Are you trying to not so subtly bash me with your post?

If so pick something you want to argue about please.

I was just teasing you... I tried to put a smilie in the edit field but the 2+2 edit script kept crashing on my machine.

Oh ok.

I do however think that we are rapidly moving towards what could be described as an surveillance society/world

I also think that terrorism is one of the tools being used to bring this about and I think the whole thing is intentional
