The St. Louis gun couple who stood up to the BLM mob and the old Florida businessman whose family had been driven out of first Spain and then Cuba by totalitarians, those were both home runs!

Tulsi is just a republican parading as a Democrat parading as a republican.

Maybe I’m not fully appreciating the idiosyncrasies of individual voters, but I somehow doubt that the block of people who identify as democrats and would be persuaded to vote for Trump by criticisms of the BLM “protests, riots, looting, etc” while simultaneously being turned off by the fact that they are being blamed on “democrats” instead of a more ideological term is very large.

They are certainly presenting a contrast, along with some unintentional irony

Fyp.

Also, wtf? You thought their segment was good?

Come on man, they came off as unhinged loons. How many times did they use the word Marxist in their 4 minutes on screen?
08-25-2020 , 09:25 AM
Master - you left out the word “feloniously” from your edit
08-25-2020 , 09:30 AM
Allegedly feloniously
08-25-2020 , 09:33 AM
Right sorry, gotta keep those distinctions clear

I’m a little surprised Trump didn’t just pardon them at the end of their segment

Don't knock it. Trump is polling 78% with the unhinged loon demographic (7% Biden, 28% not voting because it's a conspiracy to sterilise us all), it's his core vote.

Good catch.

You cant just whip your dick out and point it at people legally.

Oh did I say dick? I meant gun. Eh, it still applies to people like that

No, I think I'll still knock it. It being succesful is actually more of a reason to knock it than not.

i think it's something like 68% disapprove of trump's handling of covid19. so that means 32% are ok with it?!?!?! lol!!!

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/202.../nyur-a24.html

Over the past few years I have been exposed to varying iterations of the same argument coming from the left and the right that the identity politics of today is anti-Marxist and anti-Socialist, and it is more or less a divide and conquer Neoliberal ploy. The above article, ostensibly coming from the left, focused on NYU is an example.

I was interested in getting a perspective of the validity of this argument from the people in this forum who seem to identify as Marxists/Socialists and also seem to support the identity politics movements of the day.

speaking for myself and from what I've seen of people who think like me, including leftist content creators, we are all for social justice but not identity politics, virtue-signalling, etc.

if you want specifics, you're going to have to be more specific

Who are leftist content creators that separate social justice from identity politics? Serious question, not a gotcha. I really don't know who you are even thinking about. In today's political climate it seems most people who fit this rubric would be labeled alt-right.

As far as a specific example, the article I linked lists colleges increasingly allowing racial identity based housing segregation as something which would ostensibly be considered "left," but is really using identity politics to further Neoliberalism.
08-25-2020 , 03:33 PM
it depends what you mean by "identity politics"

if it's just a derogatory term for intersectionality, I'm not against it at all

I am against racially segregated dormitories

wow **** was crazy in kenosha last night

last night a pos scum murdering cop helicopter was circling my home from about 10pm to midnight. i live right by city hall, so when the protests were happening it was non stop helicopters.

i know it's kinda petty and selfish, but its really bad for my mental health to have those helicopters circling non stop.

in case you needed more evidence usa is not a country of justice, peace, freedom.
08-26-2020 , 12:51 PM
it's absurd to support a government that doesn't represent you, never has represented you, and never will represent you.
08-26-2020 , 02:23 PM
people say aoc and the squad have to compromise and show support for nancy pelosi and joe biden. but why? shouldn't the most radically left wing of the government, actually be left wing, and stand up to the centrists?
08-26-2020 , 02:39 PM
Strange a Black man got shot 7 times in the back by police for basically no reason, while a white kid with a big gun walked around, supported by police, shot 2 people, and then got taken alive.

What a weird coincidence!

Would just like to point out that SOME things ARE preventable by choosing the "lesser of two evils"...like a Justice Department once again headed by Barr.

Ya.

There's a Black professor I respect more than almost anyone on the planet. He teaches the racist history of our country, has created courses highlighting the issues, is staunchly in the camp that Democrats are not the answer. He is extremely anti-capitalism and generally just disgusted with our country.

Yet, he's going to be advocating for Biden votes while simultaneously preparing protests for the Biden administration.

He sees nuance and path towards change, but a worthless third party vote isn't it in his mind.

You can disagree, but the "lol Biden votes are stupid and you just support the establishment!" are stupid takes and don't even attempt to understand other peoples struggles, views, or thought processes.
08-26-2020 , 03:00 PM
no one is saying that voting for the lesser of two evils gives no benefits. of course we get a benefit! that is why people do it.

but if we had stood up to the dems in the past, we wouldn't have biden right now. we wouldn't have had clinton last time(which resulted in trump). we could have had representatives who actually represent us.

by continually voting for the lesser of two evils we are giving dems the greenlight to push clinton biden harris and who the hell knows who down the line. and it lets candidates like trump win.
