if you like star trek, it's def worth 20 minutes to check out
i'd happily discuss it more in depth with you there. don't want to derail the wonderful, fascinating, feel good, discussions we have in here

You are very much living in a bubble.

At least 40% of the electorate will be voting for Trump.

A significant portion of those who vote for Biden will do so because he's not Trump and might make some modest changes, not because they want a revolution.

We aren't anywhere close to most people agreeing we need a revolution, comrade.

I'm sorry you're so angry today.

first of all no way in hell 40% of the electorate will vote for trump. he got like 63 million votes last time. i think that's like ~25% of the electorate. and i think a lot of those people want a revolution. part of trump's platform was how terrible republicans and democrats are. trump ripped the repubs to shreds during his campaign.

in your day to day life, how many people have you ever known who think politicians are not corrupt? i'm not sure i've ever even known any. in my whole ****ing life. but i do largely surround myself with non republicans, non patriotic types. so i do know that i live in a bubble.

but i do play poker with rich republicans, and i'm pretty sure they all think politicians are corrupt. but i don't think they mind because they are the ones corrupting the politicians lol

Dude, your views are your views and you don't need to apologise for them (unless you're Mark_k), I guess it's sad to see the filthy with hope for AOC drowned out by the filthy who listens to BM.

There's a lot wrong with both our countries, but we have to try.

Excuse the lazy phrasing. 40%+ of people who vote will vote for Trump. There will be people on the fringe who want a revolution, but not that many.

Everyone thinks politicians are corrupt. I haven't checked the surveys of public opinion lately, but politicians always rank very low for being respected. That does not, however, necessarily correlate with desire for revolution -- there is a LOT of resignation out there. Why do you think it's been decades since the last mass demonstrations on a level of the BLM stuff?

Anyway, I've been avoiding the thread lately because I'm currently kinda bored with political crap and it's good for anyone's mental health to take breaks. I'm going to watch golf on TV, make tacos and drink beer and I'll leave it to others to change the world while I"m away.

Despite being outraised 250-1 by her establishment-backed opponent, progressive environmentalist Marquita Bradshaw scored a stunning upset victory in the Tennessee Democratic primary for an open U.S. Senate seat on Thursday after running on a platform that included Medicare for All and the Green New Deal.

James Mackler, one of Bradshaw's four primary competitors, was endorsed by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and raised more than $2 million over the course of the campaign, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Bradshaw, by contrast, had the backing of the Memphis-Midsouth chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America and raised just over $8,400.
stories like this do give me hope, and support my belief that most of us think we need a revolution.
