I wasn't commenting on all of them just this particular one.

I would have said nothing about it really but other people were sorta on the topic.

Now that you have heard of a baseball for 88 dollars, are you any more concerned, Mets?

Apparently VMF has no problem calling it a coincidence

Maybe there is political merit to doing a bunch of random more innocuous bad acts and then when people point out your really bad things you can use the "overreactions" to point out how people always overreact to what you do.

Share yourself from cognitive dissonance - deny what you cannot (bring yourself to) change

There were also exactly 88 versions of the red triangle Facebook ads.

I didn't look very hard but they have enough other things priced at prices like $42, $28, etc to create plausible deniability here. Some things are also priced "normally" too.
A quick sample:

Lots of things with prices ending in 8 and 2 I noticed.

I never heard of it either. So I learned something today.

If they have a closeout sale on those baseballs, like for 88% off or more, I might buy a few crates and accidentally leave them in the middle of a riot somewhere.

https://www.trumpstore.com/collections/home-candles
But if you look at candles from the Trump home spa collection, every item ends in 5 or 0.
06-28-2020 , 07:35 PM

Another 88
06-28-2020 , 07:39 PM

This skin screen at $107 completely breaks the mold for ending in an odd number not 5.
Long story short: there is enough plausible deniability in this specific instance. There are enough random items with randomish prices that we can't say for sure that this baseball is a racist dog whistle. I do note the prevalence of prices ending in 8 in general.
The stuff with the 88 versions of the red triangle or the 13/88 are stronger. But I like pwns' idea that the whole thing is intentionally designed to make liberals look nuts.

The $88 Trump baseball is pretty clearly intended to be an essential piece in any collection of heritage artifacts & WW2 memorabilia.

also, LOL at exactly VMF & Luckbox calling it crazy to see an obvious connection

I tend to agree that the baseball makes a better case than the women's hoodie.

I agree with the theory. Then I went digging around the rest of the website. I still agree with the theory. Try to at least read what I've written.

I get that a baseball is different than a hoodie and has collectability-- and I can see the connection with wwii memorabilia. I'm just saying that since tons of other prices also end in 8 (which is certainly also intentional) that there is plausible deniability in this instance.
If every price for every other item ended in 0 or 5 (and plenty do) then the case would be stronger. But they don't. They end in 0, 2, I saw 6 one time, the one instance of 7 I saw, 5, and 8.
1, 3, 4, and 9 are not represented as far as I saw except for items on sale at $49.99. Mostly it is 0, 2, 5 and 8.

"hey let's use the upside down triangle that nazis put on jews in the holocaust cuz it'll be hilarious the way liberals react"

Here it's interesting that of all the purses/handbags/clutches-- it's the camo one that ends in an 8 while other items have normal prices.

We already had this conversation

remember when bobo said that the media was controlled by cultural marxist’s and then said that the upside down triangle, a nazi symbol for anti-fash, at the bottom of an add about anti-fash was a coincidence, as was the fact that there were exactly 88 different ads
06-28-2020 , 08:16 PM
it’s intentionally designed to be racist

it’s not complicated, it’s not some clever political ploy

it’s a pretty simple explanation—the people using them are white supremacists
06-28-2020 , 08:17 PM
there is no clever tactic or strategy behind, no big plan

it’s the name reason racist people use ethnic slurs. People don’t use the n-word as some sneaky ploy to trick anyone. It’s because they are racists
