I have no idea to what extent this will actually matter (as I said in the other thread, Mat is already aware of the dearth of active POG moderators and, I'd guess, is discussing the matter among some combination of the higher ups and Gambit/eyebooger), but let's use this thread as a catch all to nominate and discuss candidates.

It's been said in numerous places elsewhere, but bears repeating: thanks for your time, JMurder, and hopefully you stick around.

I think if POG is to get new mods, there should be some sort of criteria.

The top one is simple from my eyes - they cant be a regular WW player. The new mod has to be neutral and looking at the recent threads and where the majority of the toxic behaviour is in the forum, I would worry that there would be no neutrality.

Secondly, they would have to be well known within the community and post regularly.

Thirdly, they shouldnt have a history of bad behaviour in other forums.

That rules everyone but nich out of my list, he would probably be a great mod. I also endorse Birdman despite him being an active ww player since I believe he is genuinely trying to weed out the toxicity. Zurvan also but seemed to have some personal clashes, which isn’t optimal. Other three in my list play ww, but are nice people and would judge fairly imo. I probably have some others in mind too later.

Brings back memories of the time that the POG mods and ex-mods unanimously agreed that Nich should be made a mod but our request was denied by Ryan Beal on the grounds that Nich was too enthusiastic about the Wii.

I think KD's idea is terrible; while everyone deserves a chance to improve/evolve from previous mistakes, amnesia, intentional or otherwise, from past transgressions (or toxicity, to use the buzzword du jour) carries a strong risk of rehashing the same issues with the usual suspects.

Zurvan has zero personality clashes that I'm aware of other than with me, and I would still endorse him for mod (and would have even before our offline discussion) without hesitation. I don't think he wants the job.

I agree re: coder, but somehow I doubt she'd be interested.

I think two, and I think one should be an irregular or never WW player. I think nich could be a really good choice if he's up for it.

I feel like one of the mods should be a regular ww player. Presumably when modding this forum ww specific issues will come up and it would be helpful to then have someone involved that's familiar with the matter.

Maybe I didn't word it well, but POG needs a Mod (especially in WW disputes) that everyone can trust to be fair for both sides of the argument. That was what I meant by neutral. A lot of the names suggested ITT so far don't give off that impression to the peanut gallery (ie POG lurkers/occasionals like me).

From the names suggested, I would also say Nich would be the best choice if he was interested.

I believe that JM3 said in another thread that gambit does a lot of work behind the scenes, even if he does not post any more. I could be misremembering however.
