About eighty percent of them will be either female or juvenile, both of which are drab looking. If you get an adult male (the ones with the colored throats) that's very good — but even then the light has to be at the right angle to pick up the color, because hummingbird gorget feathers are reflective.

this is like an old 'tendo game? think i've heard of it (but never played it obv)

looks like some old-school 2d rendition of the Thief character.

Nah, my gaming heyday came during the NES and SNES, but this was a Playstation 1 game. It was the first "Metroidvania" game, where they mixed Castlevania story, characters and atmosphere with elements from RPGs (level gaining, inventory) and Metroid (2d map exploration, powers that expand as you gain items, etc).

So, so good on just about every level.
