You know what sucks, having a conscience. I have a bunch of whitty comments / retorts but I'm afraid to say them because they're directed at people I don't know, so it probably makes my comments inappropriate.

I love Blake. The Songs of Innocence and Experience are some of my most favoritest.

Not a lot of poetry really catches my interest, but the ones that have are Blake, Dickinson, and Frost.

the only thing worse than waking up to discover that you've drunk poasted a lot of crazy ****, is realizing that you've done it stone cold sober

I think poetry or prose is too limiting. I'm don't really know a lot about literature (I greatly prefer writing to reading, I do read a lot but I don't have a literature's student fascination with certain authors etc) but if there's some novel sized book that mixes and matches poetry and prose while still following a plot/character development etc I'd be interested in that.

house of leaves is kind of like that

ulysses becomes a strange poetic play 2/3rds of the way in, not actually writtten in verse though

and of course tolkien is filled with poetry if you like his kind of mock-epic stuff. not such good poetry as myth-making.

Going camping this weekend. First time in years and only second time ever. It'll be good to get out of the 100+ degree heat here in Phoenix.

Looks like we have some gardeners here. Here is a pic of half my garden taken in June. The other half is behind me.

The weeds have taken over now, but I had an awesome harvest of tomatoes, onions, and potatoes this year. And I'll have a ton a nice big pumpkins for Halloween.

So since February I have lost about 40 pounds, 8 inches on waist.. and gotten considerably stronger.

Just joined a Bally's by my house and got a free workout with a trainer. I'm at the point I can go 2 miles on a treadmill and get some good lifting in afterwards without wanting to completely die.

After 20 minutes with this trainer he made me think I may never walk again. I am considering buying some real personal trainer sessions now. His way has to be entirely more efficient than mine since he completely kicked my ass in no time at all.

Minnesota.

My wife grew up on a farm a couple miles from where we live, so my garden is there.
