I'm here with you.

I've never done an illegal drug, other than drinking while underage.

I feel like I've been leveled non-stop on these forums lately.

That specific brand/style, and comparable brand/styles, are probably the most popular shoe at the moment, and over the past 5-10 years. There was a huge thread in ELD about how awesome they are, they're Jcrew's sample shoe, etc.

style is a way to distinguish yourself from the crowd, not follow along with it.

I thought we were out of high school?

Buying something because it's "in style" is the reason crocs and those ****ing ugg boots, or whatever they're called, are so frigging oversold.

People wear uggs in the summer, when it's 90 degrees outside, but they're in style, so who cares if their feet are swimming in sweat, or that their feet aren't getting proper arch support?

I'm sure the rest of us will be copying your style and wearing jeans + jean jacket in no time.

I can't say anything snotty about style because whenever I buy something that I really like the aesthetics of but which I'm certain is overpriced it always makes me happy anyway.

Let's see, they're versatile, go with everything, come in a variety of colors, are moderately priced, zomg, I can't possibly wear those!

Like, I can understand and tolerate when people are just being antagonistic for the hell of it. But I hate stupid people. If you actually just compared those boots to uggs/crocs, and are serious, then you fit that category. I suggest you sell your cars, house and computer. Because those popular things are bringing you down, man. Be your own person! Free yourself! Live in a tent, rollerblade to work, and read the newspaper. **** those popular, practical things. Be different for the sake of being different and prove to me just how awesome you are.

Dude, your first argument was that you bought them because they were popular and in style. Not because you liked their versatility or because they come in a variety of colors. They're butt ugly imo, and have been since I first saw them when I was 5. So yeah, they are very similar to crocs or uggs, in that respect.

I bought my car because it's well made, safe, and fun to drive, not because every schmoe in my area drives one (this I actually hate, btw). If it had been built by aliens and I went to the only dealer in the world that sold them, I would still have bought it.

I bought my house because I like to stay out of the rain, like to keep warm, and my wife wouldn't live on a houseboat (we've had the discussion, btw). It's also centrally located between my parents and her parents, is within walking distance to our local grocery store and work, and is in a good school system. I didn't buy it because it was in a popular neighborhood, or because I thought it would make all the cool kids in school like me better.

I bought my comp because I need it to work, thus allowing me to buy crocs, uggs, lattes at Starbucks and Deisel Jeans.

I like Clarks as a company a lot but I agree that those are ugly shoes. I love chaco too but hate thong sandals. I have a pair of chaco's that i've owned for 7 years but I need to get them resoled. Never owned birkenstock but I like naot a lot and those also have the removeable cork footbeds
