So I'm trying the top secret house recipe stuff to get healthy.

- German Chamomile tea in a huge pot with some other herbs, boil and inhale with a towel (so that nothing escapes) works pretty well.
- Ribwort juice seems to work but it tastes disgusting and thus is out
- Some superhot oil mixture works really well

Oil mixture is mostly peppermint (it's inhaled and rubbed under the nose + on the forehead)

Hey everybody

It's MANUPOD, still rocking the temp ban (one more final...ugh)

I'm going to be in Vegas Jan 3-7, staying at the Luxor. I haven't been to Vegas in over a year, and last time we stayed at the Bellagio and didn't move around much, so what's one to do on the other side of the strip?

Obviously I'm interested in meeting up with any and all pogers who happen to be around- send me a PM and we can meet up for table games, poker, etc.

We'd also like to:

Shoot guns
Play golf

so people with thoughts regarding those activities should let me know and I will be appreciative.

Also, in antiticpation of my return in a few days...I'll do the AVATAR reveal (uhhhh ohhhh ahhhhh) and have another atrocious game ready to go go go go go!

sincerely yours,
manupod

the M&M and Coca Cola stores near the MGM are a good way to kill a few hours as part of randomly walking around on the strip.

The Gun Store on Tropicana (off the strip) will be your best bet for shooting guns, but if you have no car you'll sorta be stranded there. There's another place in the southwest somewhere but it's further away. Don't know about golf options.

so if, a couple of months ago, anyone close to me had been asked to describe me in one word, they likely wouldve used one of the following:

fun
funny
easygoing
carefree
happy

every time i leave work i honestly dont feel like any of those words describe me any more. this is not a good thing. someone offer me a 40k job in the houston area and soon please

and you know, i know its not even entirely guillermo's fault for pulling a solid 38% in my class. It is definitely partially his fault,

and he might actually care and want to learn

but when he knows spanish 2x as well as english, and im up in front of the room talking about order of operations in english, and osvaldo is next to him talking about ruth's boobs in spanish, who is he going to listen to?

I feel for both CPFB and HBE... The early years of a teaching career is H-A-R-D.
The good news is that it gets easier every year. Also, school districts are not equal. Also, don't forget about community college teaching positions... (Much much easier than public schools)

My wife gives her sympathy... (3rd grade teacher)

GL!

Don't be too eager to have only good kids in class. In a loltastic example of intelligence a teacher in the state of Bavaria (supposedly home of the most intelligent kids here) was fired from her job because every single student in her class had As. Explaination "there need to be bad students in each class" lolol.
Turns out parents from the other class (there were two of the same age group) were jealous because all the slots for the upcomming top higher schools would be blocked by the army of A students.

that's not the problem. The problem is that many of the kids I teach (and I assume HBE) are ****heads that are only in school because their probation officer makes them be there. I feel sorry for the kids that really want to learn.

My wife is friends with a lecturer from Cal State Long Beach. This lecturer is a teacher with several teaching awards and amazing drive. Well, a few years ago, she quit her CSLB position to work in a public high school. The pay, benefits and hours were better. Three months into the new job (H.S. English) she quit and went back to CSLB... She couldn't handle all the classroom issues and the complete disregard towards learning by the class. And she was not a just out of school newbie teacher...

It's tough tough tough.

BTW, there is zero comparison between that type of class and a school where the parents are involved with their kids learning and the kids are motivated to be active in the class.
