I love fall squash soups, they are some of my very favorite things to make. My parents have gone near-vegan recently, so anyone with any nice fall vegan recipes, I'd love them.

My mom has actually gone a step further and is now mostly eating raw, but fortunately she makes exceptions for dinners at our place.
How to Cook Everything has some simple fall squash soup recipes. We find that a pinch of cayenne gives the soup a little bit extra. It doesn't really come through as heat, though.

Our fall veggie recipes have included a lot of curries lately (thai & indian, both of which are vegan. You can add sour cream at the end to individual dishes if you want). We've been kind of lazy lately and just making a curry with everything we have from the farm and tossing in some meat if we have some around.

So this week is pretty weak, but it's a start --
Tonight: Huevos Rancheros. Eggs, leftover steak, beans and rice, corn tortillas, cheese, salsa. [Also, make the soup. Freeze most of it. Save the rest for later in the week. Also make the chard/kale w cheese, since (a) it's easy, (b) it will start to go bad otherwise, and (c) it will make a nice addition to this week's omelettes.]
Tomorrow: Outback free steak dinner.
Wednesday: Bridge night. Probably work late, unlikely to eat a real meal.
Thursday: Soup, greens, and anything else leftover in the fridge.
Friday/Saturday: Gone for the weekend.

Also yesterday I had some leftover roasted spaghetti squash with a homemade tomato sauce. Before reheating it though, we (micro-)grated a small zucchini, which gave it color and added something nice to the taste. Topped with fresh pepper and parmesan obv.

Horsemeat sashimi is a speciality of parts of the southern island of japan, it's called Basashi or maybe bazashi. I went on a homestay there for a bit, and i got offered it there at a barbeque (without the barbequing bit, obv, in the case of the horse). It's quite deep red, and you eat it just like regular sashimi. It was really tasty, like a rare steak.

Then a few years later, I was in a sushi place in tokyo and i noticed it on the specials board, and remembering how tasty it was I ordered some. This time it came with onions, or maybe garlic, i think. I didn't enjoy it as much the second time, i have a suspicion that it was a bit long in the tooth and that the onions were disguising this fact.

But I would totally recommend it.

Whac-A-Mole is not that satisfying.

For clarity: I'd bet >50% of Elliot's bans are the same (perma-banned) poster who keeps coming back for more.
