If it just threatens to snow, they shut everything down here.

The only thing they didn't shut down was the Starbucks by my hotel, and it's a good thing too. There'd have been some serious rage tilt had I been denied my coffee

My wife went to college in High Point NC. One year they had like 4 inches or something. Everything got shut down.

She said that the whole county had 1 snowplow, and it took days to get the streets plowed.

I've never seen a snow plow other than on TV.

That's how it was in Vegas, except for the part about having a snowplow.

They are talking about maybe getting snow here on Friday. That would be interesting to see because it doesn't snow here anymore often than it does in Vegas.

Also, it feels really rewarding to be able to recognize humor in a foreign language. The weather forecast given this morning was roughly: "It's cold, it's cold, it's colder than yesterday, and less cold than tomorrow. It's cold."

Is the phrase "this isn't kosher" commonly used in the US to mean "something isn't right"

It's somewhat common here

That think looks and sounds just like the shuttle between the Main terminal and gates at Pittsburgh International airport.

I know of these places from man vs food.

I also think primanti bros is overrated

I remember fatheads being better in just about every way

I know people in Pitt and Philly, maybe I'll make a trek of it sometime.

I know O'Hare has a system like this I think Lille was the first and it's pretty long (no doubt that there were probably multiple competing systems that do the same)
Düsseldorf airport and Dortmund (university) have somewhat different systems called SkyTrain that also operate without a driver but are hanging

An ancient one from the 80's (70's?) that does not exist anymore:

Circus-Circus!!! From the Main tower to the Skyrise tower. This was their answer to compete with the Disneyland people mover.

As Archie Bunker would say: "Those were the days..."
