Don't think the last two moves were correct from IANAWW. 26...Ke8 was simply to prevent the immediate Rxe6. Now that h4 and e5 have been played my plan is to have my king eventually escape via the h file.
I see no real reason to give check with Re6 and then not double up the rooks on the 7th rank. Had he played Re7 then 32...Rxh4 leaves the g7 pawn hanging, but now with Re6 instead that is no longer the case, I'm free to capture h4 and appear to now be 3 pawns up.
Interesting game but I'm not sure where ianaww goes from here to salvage anything. Unless I'm missing something, him checking Gamer the last two times has been only to Gamer's advantage.
Does he now make the exchange at A7 and hope to advance his pawns to the end or what can he do/should he have done?
So I've been considering the move a5 for quite some time now as it seems to be the best option to free my rook.
Now that I have pieces well coordinated it's something I consider more and more which each move.
If I play 35...a5 I'm expecting 36. Rb7 as a response. However, it appears that after 36...a4 whites only reply is to capture with bxa4 as the rook is unable to capture without leaving the other hanging.
Eventually we reach the following position after 37. bxa4 Rxa4
I'm slowly getting the impression that 34. Re7+ has now cost white a significant tempo given he'll need to move it again if he ever wants his rooks off the 7th rank.
I've considered other moves like the passive 35...Kh8. Which I think is wrong given the above. Also 35...Rg5 has come to mind in preparation of f5. However my king side pawn structure is quite strong at the moment and getting aggressive without is probably wrong.
