Also, if you have TBD next to your name, please submit a category.

Let's say all categories and preferences needed to be posted in here by Friday and then we'll give until the following Sunday, 10/11, to submit your songs. If people want to change these dates, discuss below. I'm just throwing ones out there to get it going.

Everyone should submit the songs to me for every category but their own (no submission) and mine. For mine, somebody please post to volunteer to receive pms with submissions for my category to combine and send to me on 10/12.

for mine, haunting songs or hauntingly beautiful

I like female voices over male 80% of the time. And I prefer stripped down just voice and piano or maybe some haunting or just pretty atmospheric music over having beats and electronic stuff over the voice.

thank you

so everybody send your entries for everyone but my category to me and your submission for my category to donkdonkdonkdonk.

your entry should have artist title and youtube link and any comments you want to give (i think some categories they asked for that, like the weird genre name one, but you can always give anonymous comments on why you picked a song or it's a category fit or highlight the section from 0:53 - 1:07 or whatever)

Copied from main thread:

My category is mellow metal. This is primarily inspired by TOOL's Fear Inoculum, which I've enjoyed quite a bit. I really enjoy the slower pace of the songs on that album and the relatively chill vocals. Let's say that TOOL songs are off-limits but Maynard's other projects are in play.

Fast. Loud. Hard. The type of song that when you're driving, you get so into the song that you don't realise you're doing 20 over the limit down the highway.

Hint: Do not send me dance/trance/EDM/anything that is likely to be played at EDC or for UK players, Creamfields.
As above.

What I tend to like: most stuff under the rock umbrella (includes pop and disco - I use a wide umbrella), folk music from around the world, caribbean rhythms.

What I tend to not like (though there are exceptions): extreme metal, country, rap/hip-hop, anything that is amelodic.

When you want to submit the same song for 3 categories...

Go for it

Would be interesting to see how differently it fares with different people

I think catchy songs by a solo artist is fairly self-explanatory, but go here for a more detailed thing about my musical tastes generally.

Songs I'm very familiar with will not score well. Trying to find new music here. If something has been a top hit, you submit it at your own risk. (Also because I don't tend to like Top 40 music anyway)

Hmm. I think I'm walking a thin line with Gad's song.

It's a great song by a legendary singer, but mayyyy fall in the wrong spot. Ie if you don't like it, it's your fault.

Actually, I could probably make the same claims about the song I'm sending to you.

Sorry if you answered in the other thread, are you wanting songs from the era of british invasion or more generally songs by british artists? Do you want just a good song, or good and also something you haven't heard before? This is the hardest category to me lol
