NSA 2, the "well, actually we DO collect that data"-ing - Sign up and feedback, STARTS May 15 NSA 2, the "well, actually we DO collect that data"-ing - Sign up and feedback, STARTS May 15

05-03-2014 , 02:05 PM
Start: Monday May 12
Day/Night: 8am-8pm server time
Size Target: 25ish
Flavor: Vanilla +, all roles will be known

Original game link: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/59...-19-start-835/

OK, so in this game, every villager will be a seer. Here are the types of seers there are:

Normal Seer
Insane Seer (gets opposite peek)
Paranoid Seer (always gets wolf)
Naive Seer (always gets villager)
Useless Seer (gets a good in equal probability to the number of living players. gets the same answer if they peek the same person twice, however).
Paranoid Useless seer (as Useless, but gets wolf when useless would get villager etc.)

On death, you will not be told what type of seer a villager was.

I am not sure about wolf roles yet, feedback welcome. Here is what there was in the first game:

Wolves:
All but 1 have the following power:
Vanilla: Each night, they name a villager, a target and a good/evil status. If the selected villager peeks the selected target, their result for that person will be whatever the wolf chose. Otherwise, the power does nothing.

The last one is:
Silencer: Each night, he picks a player. That player may not speak in the game thread that day, except for one post that is a vote such as "vote chuckleslovakian" with no other content. The silencer's powers stop working if he is still alive for must lynch. If the silencer is lynched, you will know (as opposed to just saying "xxx was a wolf"). The same player may not be silenced in twice.

So, I think the original role set is pretty good. There will be symmetry in the seers (so equal or as close as possible between the logical pairs, eg normal seer and insane seer).

Wolf roles I am open to suggestion.

I am thinking no n0 actions at all. If the game gets fewer people I may give n0 peeks, because my intuitive feel is that the game is balanced for a longer game due to the uncertainty of the peeks and the math.

This game is one that places an emphasis on two things from the village perspective:
Being able to work with conditional probabilities to get mechanical information
Being a good wolf hunter, because there will ultimately be some uncertainty in the mechanical information

Hmm I'm leaving either the 20th or 21st where I won't have any way to connect to the internet for real the following 5 or 6 days. Soooooo I think joining is cutting it too close but otherwise I'd play. Not in...

Weekends will be 1 real day per calendar day unless there are objections (probably with night at like midnight instead of 8).

Did you follow the last all-seer game? It was broken because the roleset was known and for example the paranoid seers will learn their own role very quickly and you will get claimfests.

The conclusion of this game was that the roles may be all known (the types of seers that are in the game), but the exact quantities should be hidden - to stop said claimfests breaking the game.

The "useless" seer is more commonly known as random seer.

No, but I was in the last NSA game. That is exactly how it worked: types known, quantities not. Everyone was posting their peeks after a while and math ensued, but there is always some doubt, so you have to play werewolf, too. It was known that the random/paranoid random had the same number, true/insane had the same number, naive / paranoid had the same number, (or within 1) but what those numbers were was unknown.
