With my 20th pick I select:

Spoiler:

Silversun Pickups

The band that brought you "Lazy Eye," among other great, great songs.

Awesome pick, and a band that is awesome live.

Spoiler:
Death

Second best selling Death Metal band in the US. On average the highest rated Death Metal Band of all time. A Chuck Schuldiner led Death would be a big draw. Schuldiner is know as "The Father of Death Metal" and died young of cancer/pneumonia.

How can you take them so early? Goddamnit.

Huge mistake on my part. Should've taken them. I have no idea how popular some of these bands are.

Ugh.

Ugh.
I think the reaction demonstrates "how" I can take them "so early" quite well.

lol, you could've taken my favorite band that I'm drafting in the last round and that still wouldn't justify it :P

But yeah, apparently they are more popular than I thought.

Spoiler:
Kenny Rogers

Nothing wrong with the gambler. Topped the country/pop music charts for 437 weeks just in the United States. Sang the best song ever written about poker. Started making music in the '50s and just released a record in 2006 that made it to #5 on the Billboard Country Music charts.

Fixed your post. I got both their albums based on the strength of "Lazy Eye" alone. Unfortunately it is about a hundred times better than their other songs.

That being said, "Lazy Eye" is probably my favourite song of the last 10 years, so maybe my expectations were too high.

OK, I just listened to the mentioned SSPU songs again (for the first time in months, and only third time ever):

Little Lover So Polite - too repetitive, bad ending, doesn't seem to go anywhere, bit of a catchy rhythm, but I need more
Future Foe Scenarios - mildly catchy, but also repetitive/aimless, after two minutes I felt like skipping, another overlong ending
Dream at Tempo 119 - first two minutes were promising, then became unlistenable until the verse reprise, would need to do custom editing to add to my regular playlist
Panic Switch - much better with a catchy chorus, but repetitive and boring verses. Still tolerable, so added to my playlist.

Also, I had forgot about "Well Thought Out Twinkles" - that's a pretty good song too. But <5 listenable songs out of 20 is not a good ratio for me.

For comparison, CCR's ratio is 64/66 songs. The only failures are a forgettable song written/sung by the bassist, and this bizarre experiment (the first two minutes are OK, and then... ???):

Spoiler:

Liz Phair

She's a lame sellout and all, but Exile in Guyville is still a lo-fi indie classic. Just going to pretend that the last 10-15 years of her career never happened and that way she can put on a quality set that appeals to my festival.
