I probably would have gone C based on the last 3 letters of it looking most similar to English, but which was wrong.
Not sure how much this helps, but if you knew θ as Theta (from a math class), you could logic to the point where the first characters of the answer included that character for sure, eliminating C.
From there you could use a similar analysis to eliminate A, assuming you think that there is unlikely to be a character between A and θ.
If you also knew λ as Lambda, you could eliminate D by the same principle as C.
All of this relies on you knowing that Athens is the capital of Greece obviously.
