counter whatever they cast on turn 3 or 4 and then put down a jayemdae tome or disrupting scepter while leaving counter mana open

or I remember before they restricted mind twist and you would be playing with 4 mana drains and 4 mind twists against another deck with 4 of each as well and the first one to get a mind twist off wins

those were the days when players played red elemental blasts in their main decks (since all decks had blue)

Every blue decks plays 4 FoW
Not every blue deck plays Mana Drain

I still have my playset though

Decks with maindeck REBs are not so far behind.

how many posts do you guys think this will have D1? i was trying to get my friend to join and i told him there would be more than 1k posts, maybe like 2500 on D1.

That has more to do with the bizarre environment Legacy has become, since so many decks have deadly combos that can kill you in the first 2 turns, and games are less likely to reach the point of casting big spells. I'll concede the point in that sense (FoW > MD in current Legacy), but I still prefer Mana Drain and think it was more dominant in its era than FoW was even if FoW is absolutely necessary in Legacy now.

I think it's not unusual to run at least a couple even now.

Some blue decks were maining Flashfreeze when Jund was dominating top 8s.

not 2500 imo

O/U is 1800

could be as high as 2000 if people get into discussing the card game and reminiscing and telling stories (I will be)

If you don't want to play day 1 I suggest to signup as a sub.
Nobody expects subs to read day 1

and subs in a game like this are always needed.
I will not sub players day 1 on post count

I actually haven't been reading every single post in huge games like this as often, especially when I wake up and there are already 500-700 posts, much of it fluff, but that's probably a leak since you can often find an awkward wolf or two in the early going.

Excited for this game to start, when will the thread open on Monday?
