I want to see if it's possible to collaboratively come up with an interesting game that is well-suited to playing on a forum.

My idea is that people pitch suggestions for the broad category that the game falls under, which we then vote on. We then pitch more specific ideas, voting on them, and then continue with ever more specific details until we have a complete game. We then run the game in the forum. Afterwards, we could have a vote on tweaking some of the parameters.

The only rule of the game I'll lay down to start with is that it must be a true multi-player game, i.e. any tournament would not consist of simply a series of 1 vs 1 matches.

So tell me if you're interested, and if you are, please give suggestions for options for the first poll question - what category should the game should be in? The question should meaningfully narrow down our options while being as broad as possible.

(Also, please don't pitch whole or nearly-completed game ideas, as that would detract from the collaborative aspect of the exercise).

everyone is randed a gimmick. Also, you get randed another player in the player list. Everyone chills in the thread for a while, then everyone votes on who they think everyone else is. If you get the person right, you get a point, if someone guesses you're the person that you randed, you get a point.
