anything will work, but I agree that Yahoo's free league site is very good.

If you need me to send for you on FTP just send 50 on stars to bd3109 (Cincinnati) and PM me.

I can vouch for boiler but he'd probably want you to send first if you're not an "old school" POGer.

I sent $25 to boiler (25 because me and Chyme are going halves on the money). If you could confirm you've received it and sent to AJ for me that would be great.

I was thinking about the play every team thing and I like it a lot and upon reflecting it eliminates a ton of the variance of the playoffs if we just don't have playoffs. If you think about it we will have played every team 16 times (if we don't play week 17 and have no playoffs) so there really isn't a need to do a 1 week head to head elimination style playoff at the end of it. If we have 14 teams then every team will play 16x13=208 games and the best record is likely to be the best team.

As far as payouts go, I don't really care as long as its spelled out before the season.

I like 2 QBs and deeper leagues etc. but whatever is decided on is fine by me. Also, if you add a second flex spot I would suggest making it a second kicker/D/TE or a spot that can be taken by any position rather than just a RB/WR flex.

got it. It doesn't really matter who sends first because if you don't send to me you wont get in the league and Alex can send back. I'd prefer to get it first so it is easier to track though.

jennifer garner is the only one i haven't heard from at all, and may not actually want to be in the league since he only said "partner?".. chim as far as i'm concerned if you ship first you can have that spot, i'll pm you.

the reason i was going to go with espn is that i thought that they had a free live scoretracker thing which yahoo doesn't, but we can do yahoo if everyone wants that. here are the yahoo league settings i was messing with:

Passing Touchdowns 6 Points
Interceptions -2 Points
Passing Yards 25 Yards = 1 Point
Rushing Touchdowns 6 Points
Rushing Yards 10 Yards = 1 Point
Reception Touchdowns 6 Points
Reception Yards 10 Yards = 1 Point
Return Touchdowns 6 Points
2-Point Conversions 2 Points
Fumbles Lost -2 Points
Offensive Fumble Return TD 6 Points
Field Goals 0-19 Yards 1 Points
Field Goals 20-29 Yards 2 Points
Field Goals 30-39 Yards 3 Points
Field Goals 40-49 Yards 4 Points
Field Goals 50+ Yards 5 Points
Field Goals Missed 0-19 Yards -3 Points
Field Goals Missed 20-29 Yards -1 Points
Point After Attempt Made 1 Points
Point After Attempt Missed -3 Points
Points Allowed 0 points 10 Points
Points Allowed 1-6 points 7 Points
Points Allowed 7-13 points 4 Points
Points Allowed 14-20 points 1 Points
Points Allowed 21-27 points 0 Points
Points Allowed 28-34 points -1 Points
Points Allowed 35+ points -4 Points
Sack 1 Points
Interception 2 Points
Fumble Recovery 2 Points
Touchdown 6 Points
Safety 4 Points
Block Kick 2 Points
Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns 6 Points
Fractional Points Yes
Negative Points Yes

how does this look? i messed around a little bit with the kicker numbers.

as far as playoffs, i kind of like having them just because it's more like a season, and if you make it, it's more exciting. but i could possibly be swayed i guess if a lot of people don't want them.

let's try to finalize everything by today so we can start drafting tomorrow?

scoring looks good to me.

how much time are we giving everyone b/w picks?

I'm not sure starting the draft on the weekend is such a good idea tbh. Depends on how much grace time we get between picks, I'm certainly going to be gone tomorrow and Saturday but I can't really party more than 8h anyways.
Edit: Scoring looks good

Those rules look interesting. Personally I would still prefer it to be some form of PPR but if others don't want that that's fine.

Do those touchdown points means players get 6 points for a TD regardless of how they get it, eg special teams TDs score 6 for your player and a fumble recovery for a TD also scores 6 for your player? That's what I assume they are but I've never even heard of that second rule, although it's hardly going to make a big difference since offensive fumble recovery TDs pretty much never happen. The individual ST TD points adds something though.

as far as how much time between picks, i was kind of just praying it wouldn't be much of an issue but obviously it will at some point i guess? i really don't want to skip anybody because that sucks. but i obviously wouldn't want people taking advantage of that policy either.. what do you all think?

to clown, i think if we want to get this done we should start asap. you're not saying that you're going to be away from the internet every weekend, are you?

i think i will tell a 2p2er not in the league a couple people i want if i am going to be away for a while and have a pick coming up. others might try that too.

I've never played with a safety as being worth 4 points but because of both the rarity of them and the value to the teams it makes sense. Also, I've always wanted the defensive points allowed to count differently because it seems like it is too often inconsequential whether a team allows 14 points or 34 points whereas thats the difference between a likely win and an almost sure loss in the game itself.

I propose either smaller increments in the defensive scoring (if thats possible) or making 7-13 points be worth +5, 14-20 worth +3, 21-27 worth 0, 28-34 worth -3, and 35+ worth -5 (or-7).

Other than that everything looks great to me. As a note, JG and me are going to co-own a team and either of us picking is fine as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to be afk from mid afternoon tomm until saturday afternoon or evening so if our pick comes up then JG will have it.

I prefer yahoo to other sites.

AJ, if we do playoffs then would each team play each other in round 1 with an 8 team playoff and have the best 4 records advance? Tiebreaker goes to regular season record?

Then round 2 could be same with top 2 advancing and head to head for the title.

edit: It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me to have the season play out one way and then the playoffs another, but whatever the majority wants is ok by me.

smaller increments don't seem possible but i'm fine with making the changes you suggest. if you and JG are co-owning, then chim officially has a spot.

we can discuss the best playoff format, the only reason i was thinking of switching scoring format for the playoffs was the smaller sample size. (like if one team wins a week by a large number of points, that might not be reflected fairly because he'd still only be one win ahead of the second place team for that week, more likely this stuff would even out with 14 teams and 13 weeks)

maybe the best way to solve it would be to have no playoffs as you said originally, i could come around to that idea possibly.

Nah, I got a party to go to on Friday and 100 year anniversary soccer tournament+birthday party+tattoo party on Saturday but I doubt I'll be gone longer than till midnight eastern on either day.
I can pick via phone etc though (and I got internet access at the party if need be) I'll find some way to pick. I haven't got any major stuff on the next weekends and soccer season won't start for a while so it's basically the random Friday/Saturday partying.

Just said weekend may not be the best/may not go superspeedy because well it's pretty unlikely that not at least a couple of people are always going to be busy. We'll manage I'm sure, just look at the speed of the dynasty draft.
