barty crouch jr was a very purist devout follower of Voldemort.

In the 4th book he's the one who disguised himself as mad eye moody.

He was in azkaban for a while before this, they used polyjuice to swap him and his mother and she died and then he escaped.

He's the reason harry got put in the goblet of fire and had to compete and that teleported harry to godric's hollow. when harry came back they caught him and gave him over to the dementors and they sucked his soul out
