Guesstimania: A to Z Guesstimania: A to Z

Someone suggested I make an A - Z Guesstimania game, so I did.

Questions will be below, but first the rules for my game:

1. No research Allowed
2. Points will be assigned out in Tiers with the top 10% of answers receiving 1pt,11-20 receiving 2pts, so on. I will round up for the %s
3. If you get a perfect guess, that answer will actually be worth -3 points. There are a few on this one that I think people can get perfect by the way.

Clarification questions should be asked in this thread and I will do my best to answer them. I expect to reveal on Monday, as that is what I usually do. So the deadline will be Next Monday at 8AM Pacific. If your entry comes in after that time, you don't play. Its too difficult to add people in to this game once scoring begins.

I hope you all like the questions, and I hope they don't suck,

By "top 5%" of answers, you mean closest, without regard to going over? Or how exactly to you determine it?

I mean closest in general. So if there are 30 players the top 3 closest will get 1 pt.

Also, how can the Lost question be answered? If the show is still current, it could be active for an unknown number of years. If you'd have asked this question about Law & Order in 2001, what would have been the correct answer?

(Obviously, I've never watched Lost, so if this has been announced as the last season, all you fans have an advantage).

Will be in, but not a fan of a lot of the questions, that seem more trivia-minded, where some (hi nich, hi timelady, hi daer) will just know the answer outright without having to guess.

And a question: Can I research how long an inch is (or altermatively answer in meters and/or centimeters and have my answer converted)?

And what do you do about ties? Let's say, of 30 entrants, 5 know the correct answer. They all get -3, I assume. What does next closest get? And what if there is a tie for next closest answer.

1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.

I guess it would be allowed to research inch<->meters or celsius<->fahrenheit

Lost has been announced to be in it's final season. So I guess they do have an advantage.

I noticed that about the questions also, so I tried to find stuff that people wouldn't really know, or that was a little off the wall. Some of the letters I had a very hard time with and they end up more trivia ish. You can research for conversion purposes, or specify your measurement and I will convert.

Ties count the way you think they would, (30 entrants) if 5 people get a tie for 1st, then they all get 1 (or -3) and then the next closest or group of closest would get 2. If 6 people had tied though, then the next group would get 3 and not 2 as one level would be skipped.

Will you specify Monopoly edition (some newer ones have higher $ values and costs. I played a version with prices in the millions.)

Also, DaVinci Code is book copies or combined video copies or?

Thanks!

You can research the conversion rate, or just submit in your backwards non-American measurement and I will convert it. Just please mention that you are using your foreign measurement.

I would say that overall these are the easiest (not by a whole lot though) batch of questions of the recent guesstimania games. Should still be interesting though.
