In last place is the sole acapella submission. I'm not sure why I got this instead of an acoustic song, but it's a decent song and cover, just not what I was looking for and not good enough to be slightly off category.

Just kidding, Eric resubmitted upon request. This song was pretty nice, though, for an instrumental.
In actual 11th is another Iron Maiden cover, which rocked the last walrus, but this time it fell flat. Not a bad cover, and interesting, but I had to rank it somewhere. Depending on my mood, I could see myself listening to this over some higher submissions since they are all pretty similar.
The Trooper covered by Steve 'n' Seagulls submitted by Eric
So apparently people in a field covering a song didn't do so well in this Walrus category.
In 9th place, rounding out the nodium, is Such Great Heights covering Joy Kills Sorrow (or maybe it's Joy Kills Sorrow covering Such Great Heights???) submitted by Bloobird
you guys crushed the original acoustic category; I think the top 9 in that category beat the #1 in this category; was disappointed that it wasn't nearly as good as last time
First off the nodium is a singer I've been listening to for 24 years since Underground came out. I like the singer and band and this is a decent cover, but I've heard it before and while it's good the first time listening to it, it doesn't hold up to repeat listens and just gets repetitive. Good song to come back to once a year or so.
Ben Folds (without the 5) covering Dr Dre's Bitches Ain't **** submitted by bwslim
In 6th the quality goes up to the next level and the top 6 are all roughly the same. The 6th one is one that I know of. I like Adele and I like this cover and I like this live version of the cover.
Lovesong (Cure) covered by Adele submitted by bolt
I'm more disappointed by the fact that 2cellos wasn't eligible, since it's not, technically, a cover without singing. Thunderstruck slays everything, so far, and I expect it to slay the rest, as well.
Ah well, I had to hit the nodium sometime, I suppose.
#5 is a song I like by one of my favorite bands and I like the guy who covers the song. So all in all a pretty good track but doesn't hold up to Serj and doesn't do enough different so just comes up as a lesser version of the original rather than a refreshing different take.

#4 is a different take on a famous song. A nice female voice singing one of the electronic songs that I like. Almost podiumed, went back and forth a bunch. Good submission.
Blue Monday (New Order) cover by Flunk submitted by Gad...so close to podium, Gad
In 3rd place is the final female song of the category. I liked this one and can see this being the long-term winner when in the right mood. But IBD wanted reveals, so I ranked it 3rd today.
Train Song (Vashti Bunyan) covered by Feist and Ben Gibbard submitted by IBD
Suq figured that if this cover was good enough for Simon then it's probably good enough for me.
It's a good cover of a song I've never heard of. I enjoyed it and it held up the best over many listens to this point of the songs submitted. Not top 9 from last acoustic walrus, but good enough to win this version.
